    Hi Jan27-

Oh yes I did go through the QC cycle. (which by the way is so cool that you know this stuff!!!) Every step was fine and the noise did not happen. My question is..during the QC test...how long do I keep it on that test? I hit it one waited about 30 seconds then hit again wait another 30 sec and so on and so forth. Should I have waited longer? The noise happens with the water cycle and while drum is turning for washing. When it came to step 8 for the QC water cycle... the water flowed but the drum did not spin. That is when the noise happens during a wash cycle when both is happening. Let me know if I need to QC again but wait longer. You are awesome!! Thanks so much for your help.

OK I will do that right now. By the way I said step 8--I meant to say step 11.

The machine uses a recirculation pump and it is likely that it is where the noise is coming from. Drain water from the machine then unplug it. Open the pump filter door at the front left bottom and pull the small plug on the left of the filter cap. It is the plug for the sump drain hose. Remove the plug and drain the sump water before removing the filter to avoid flooding your floor.

Remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter and reach the recirculation pump impeller on the right to check if something is stuck in there causing the noise or the impeller itself is scraping the housing.

You can also activate the QC Test to check the working components one at time and determine where is coming from. Press and hold the SPIN SPEED and SOIL LEVEL buttons simultaneously then press the POWER button. The buzzer will sound twice, all lamps turn on, and the door locks up indicating that the QC Test Mode is activated successfully. Press the Start/Pause button repeatedly to cycle through the test modes.
Refer to the table below for the test steps, the parts tested and activated, and the display shown during the step.

I bet you also followed the procedure in activating the QC test mode. It's purpose is to test the washer component functions one at a time. It can therefore be used to determine which component is causing the grinding horrible scrappy noise by running the QC test and keenly observing on what step of the test does the noise comes on. You can then tell yourself what is causing the noise by referring to the table above. Post back the result for further advice if deemed necessary.

Match the run time of each step of the QC test with the time the noise starts after the stream of water flows in.

My LG Tromm front loader has an OE error message and isn't spinning. First received the message during a full load of laundry. Had to drain the water from the hose at the bottom and finally got it unlocked...

OE is normally down to blocked drain pipes, mcalpine (connection under the sink) or a blocked front filter. empty the machine and unscrew the filter behind the flap at the bottom right hand side, check for any obstructions, icoins, hair grips etc are normally blocking here

I have water leaking onto the floor from my LG Tromm washing machine. I tried to check for blockage of the hose but it is still leaking.

Check the connections on the back of the washer for the cold & hot water connections. This just happen to me last week. My husband tighten them and resolved the problem. Good Luck !

High pitched noise during hot water only

This problem is usually caused by LOW water pressure going in the washer.
1. Remove hot water hose and flush all debree from water line.
2. Change water filters and you'll be good to go.

GOOD LUCK!

You may have a broken door latch switch that doesn't tell the computer that the door is actually closed.  Before you actually replace the latch switch, make sure the wire connectors are securely attached to the latch assembly.
