Your PC video resolution is too high for the TV to display, please read your owner manual and set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of the TV.

Please provide the model number and the version of Windows so we can help you better. When I've had this happen, the video driver is trying to set the display to a mode that doesn't work. Only by entering the safe mode and changing the driver resolution have I been able to restore it to a working condition...I have also hooked up an external monitor to accomplish this change since some versions will change to resolution automatically to the one supported by the external monitor.

restart pc in safe mode, change video back to standard VGA of HD VGA video. PC has to be in HDMI mode and your TV has to be PC mode. Use a DIV to HDMI connector or better yet HDMI to VideoPort if your TV supports it, HDMI almost never gives you the screen output you really want anyway.

How do i use it a a PC monitor? i am connecting it and receiving a "not supported mode" display

Hello,

To hook up your television to your PC, first you need to get the appropriate cable which is the cable you use in connecting your CPU to your monitor, then turn the back of the television and try to connect it to the port that is on the television.

Then turn on the television, and go to the AV mode, select from the different AV channels you have to be able to access the laptop.

That is how to hook up your television to your PC.

Take care

You need to set your MAC video resolution to the native resolution of this TV in PC mode, please read your manual to find out what that is, if the resolution is set too high, the TV will not be able to display it.<br /> <span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><a href="http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide">http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide</a></span><br /> <span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial"> </span><br /> <span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA"><a href="http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums">http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums</a></span>

Hi Kirk,
Please try lowering the PC resolution on a regular monitor using the display properties tab to no higher than 1024x768 or even 800x600
then save the setting.
Then connect it back to the TV
the not supported mode is most likely from a change in the PC resolution.
Best of luck

Not supported mode error

Hi, boot up to an F8 and select safe mode. While there change your screen settings to 800X600.

The available resolutions in the windows operating system has to be compatble with the TV screen you are hooked up to. try lower settings first.
Thank you and god luck.
