IM600 does not switch on but green power charge button is displayed

The unit is plugged into a power source but will not switch on by either the power button or remote control. iPod does however charge.

The power button light flashes, but it won't turn on until I close the thing completely and push the button to re-open it--then it turns on, but it won't play songs all the way through. It plays about 3/4 of a song and starts it over. If I plug a cable into the aux jack and plug the other end into my ipod headphones jack, it works.

My im600 resets permanently each 5-6 seconds, anytime i switch it on with power cord or battery.

I'm disassembling mine today, but am stuck getting the whole unit apart. I did take the two screws off in the back and that is where you'll find the lithium battery. It is attached with a standard cable that allows you to remove the battery and replace yourself with no tools required (aside from those two initial screws).

Will try to post my solutions later today if I get anywhere...FYI, if you get your unit wet, be sure to remove the battery as QUICKLY as possible, then let the unit dry out. Otherwise you'll be stuck with a dead unit like mine. You might be able to clean the green corrosion off the components inside that are causing the unit to short out (thanks to the battery being still connected while wet). That's what I'm trying to do as we speak.

I my projector is new one used for 4 hrs, when i try to turn it on it just has a blinking green light. Please help Solve It! .

The blinking green light means the unit is either Powering On (Warming Up) or Powering Off (Cooling Down).

Powering On the Projector
1. Remove the lens cap.
2. Securely connect the power cord and signal cable. When connected, the ON/STANDBY LED will turn Amber.
3. Turn on the lamp by pressing " " button either on the top of the projector or on the remote. The ON/STANDBY LED will now turn Green. The startup screen will display in approximately 10 seconds. The first time you use the projector, you can select your preferred language from quick menu after the startup screen displays.
4. Turn on and connect the source that you want to display on the screen (computer, notebook, video player, etc). The projector will detect the source automatically. If not, push menu button and go to "SETUP". Make sure that the "Source Lock" has been set to "Off". If you connect multiple sources at the same time, press the "SOURCE" button on the control panel or direct source keys on the remote control to switch between inputs.

If you are still unable to get the unit to turn on, try unplugging it for 10 minutes and plugging it back in. If it still ceases to work, contact Optoma here:

My Altec Lansing Inmotion used to charge my Ipod Touch, but since yesterdag (after not using it for 3 weeks) it won't charge my Ipod anymore. The Altec charges itself, but somehow the Ipod doesn't. It is...

That is a tough one. Is your iPod fully seated -- will it play music in the im600? Have you tried a different iPod in the im600 to see if it charges? Does your iPod recharge normally in other players, in a wall charger and your computer? If not, your iPod could possibly need a new battery.
Also: since it was unplugged for 3 weeks, you may just need to run the im600 through a full cycle or two (let the FM radio play until the battery is dead, with no iPod in it), then recharge the im600 for 5 or 6 hours, and THEN mount your iPod into it and see if it charges it. Be sure to unplug/plug-in the adapter into the im600 to ensure it is getting full power from the wall outlet. One last thing: the im600 will only charge the iPod when it is plugged into AC power; it won't charge the iPod while it's running on its own battery power. Good luck!

The unit suddenly stopped working; contact is plugged in but on-button does not work. No lights on, it does not seem the unit has power.

I faced a similar problem with Mine a couple of days ago.
Try these below
1. Keep the unit plugged to the wall socket (and charge). Green light (indicating charging) may not glow. It doesnt matter. Keep it on for a few hours.
2. Then try to turn on the unit.
3. If it still doesnt turn on, fold the unit and keep it aside for a few mins (say 10 mins).
4. Open it and then try to turn it on.

Mine worked with step 4.

See if this helps.

The new battery goes in the back of the Altec Lansing imt702. Remove the two screws on the lower back of the unit. The battery is connected via a clip connector. Simply press on the raised end of the clip, and pull off the other end of the connector. The battery is a Lithium-Ion 18650, 3.7V, at least 1800mAh. If you can get a battery with a higher-rated mAh, this will give you longer run times. It might be difficult to find a matching power connector on end of a new battery though. The unit will still run with the battery removed, but of course, will not power without the AC adapter connected to a wall outlet. If your unit has problems, continuously asking to Reset itself, or display+buttons flash (with volume increasing +1 for each blink), this indicates a charging problem. The battery needs to be replaced or removed immediately. You can reset the power manually by holding down the metal clip at the back of the unit for a minute, or just closing the leg/stand to see if this works. To reset unit's factory settings: hold down power & radio << channel buttons for 7 secs, press Power when asked to Reset?, Region=1 for US stations, & press Power again to set Region. Note that the battery is being drained even if the unit is off, so keep the AC connected; completely draining a well-used Li-Ion battery may shorten the rest of its battery life. Remove the battery from the unit if not in use for long periods.

Altec Lansing will not charge

I have had a similar problem, where the battery LED lights up, then shuts off, but I could not 'power-on' the unit using the on/off button on the front. I measured the battery voltage, and was reading 4V, so that appeared ok, as says 3.7V on its label, However, even with the battery removed, the i600 would still not power on using either its integrated button, or by using the remote control.
I plugged the battery back in, and all is ok!
The battery is accessed by removing just two screws with a cross head, and pulling its cover off. Soi appears that simply removing the battery from its connection, and plugging it in again has cured the prob?
Give it a go, if you haven't already? My unit has been solid/robust/reliable and gets a lot of use and travel, and was gutted that it could need completely replacing.

Unit will not keep a charge even while plug is in outlet unit shuts down

If you have access to a multmeter - verify (carefully!!) that power is going to the unit at the tip of the power cable. I'd warranty return it if you can.

My IM600 won't power up.

Did you accidentally get the unit wet? I've been touching the power and volume buttons with wet fingers, and my unit just died. Also found a bit of a sticky residue on the pin inside the power connector on the back. I believe the button design allows for water to leak in, resulting in a short circuit.

System turns on but is nonresponsive and doesn't work.

Did you get the im600 wet? I have a similar problem, and I've been touching the power and volume buttons with wet fingers. I believe the design allows for liquid to enter the unit, and then it short circuits. Also found gummy residue around the pin, in the power connector on the back. Hope that helps.

Battery in im600 not charging

The battery is probably dead, as it's rated for 400 cycles. When you have the dock's feet out, you can see 2 tiny screws on the back of the unit, unscrew them, remove the hatch and you'll have your battery exposed. 3.7V 1800mAh Li-Ion
