Watching videos on panasonic lumix DMC-TZ3 ?

Hi,

I'm trying to take advantage of the large screen of my camera to watch videos. I mean videos not taken with my camera, but videos encoded into the same .mov format the camera creates.

I can't get any of those video to be read.

Is it possible at all ? Did anyone do it already ?

Regards
JM

I bought a TZ3 and was able to view still pics taken from other camers; Kodak, Olympus, and Casio, My HP though just would not view on TZ3.

I also tried to view movies taken on Casio, but had to convert .AVI to .MOV used by TZ3. But still no luck.

The EXIF, EXchange Image Format, standard is used on all cameras now in order make images taken on one mfgs camera viewalbe on another mfgs. But some mfgs on some models embedded non-standard stuff into their EXIF format I found from research. So it maybe hit and miss between camera models.

Also note, if you EDIT a pic using some software other than that provided with your camera, the pic may no longer be viewable on your camera. Hope this helps.

Anyway, good question and these are my experiences. Hope this helps. You can google EXIF to get gobs of info on the industry standard designed to allow exchangeablity of images between digital cameras.

Panasonic Digital camera DMC TZ3 Movie mode works and plays back on camera. When I import to Picassa they are stills. not movie clips

Picassa is a still photo software program. It does not work with videos. Try opening you videos in Quicktime. It's a free download if you don't have it already.

I lost Panasonic LUmix DMC-TZ15 driver

Do you have a USB card reader? Just take the card from the camera, pop into the reader, and you can transfer your photos.
No drivers required unless using Windows 98 or earlier.

Also, the model is wrong, do you mean TZ5? You should be able download software for the camera from www.panasonic.com
