Hello
I had that problem last mounth. If your warranty didn't run out give your lcd to the service. They changed power card of my lcd and then problem dissappeared. Checek your home voltage. They told me that high voltage could cause this problem.

Now fixing without repair:
open the main menu and increase brightness to %100. This is only the one way to lose backround wawe. The sound is so crazy but it only work when the brightness level at the top.

Hi,

"wavy" display or in the background is indicative of 60 Hz AC component riding in with the video signal. Pls check that all connectors are snug and fit to where they are connected. It would do no harm to try to remove and reinstall/reconnect all cables. Additionally, try plugging in the monitor into a different socket/AC mains. Further, you may want to try and check your cable for any stray shielding or anything out of the ordinary.

Other than the above, could not suggest more easy user action. The alternatives are to try a different monitor to determine if it is the computer's video card or the ViewSonic VA1912w that is in question; or try the ViewSonic VA1912w in another PC. It should be mentioned that some household appliances can also cause AC interference such as florescent lamps, wireless phones or even an electric clock.

Of course you can also try increasing your PC's Screen refresh Rate to anything other than 60Hz.

Technically, it may be the power supply of the ViewSonic VA1912w that is the issue. It is possible that a filter capacitor wold need replacement.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
* Turn off the monitor
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
* Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background. If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. Get it replaced.

My desktop picture is not coming up on my computer monitor

  1. Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Desktop Background.

  2. Click the picture or color you want for your desktop background.

If the picture you want to use is not in the list of desktop background pictures, click the Picture location down arrow to view other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer. When you find the picture you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background and appear in the list of desktop backgrounds.

My problem is that with this monitor I have noticed that there is a red line that moves up and down the screen - in a random manner. I thought that the line only showed in the background but it also...

With this I would normally tell you that you have a dead pixel and you need to return the monitor to the supplier. But it is very strange that the line moves.

Hi this shows your monitor has a interference by:
1) by screen refurbish frequency you may try to change this frequency from PC, go to screen setting go high level setting click monitor and change the frequency to 70(or other than 60) ,also you may try from your monitor.
2)stil trouble there, your monitor has a problem with power supply,
the capacity wave filter not very good condition. need to change 5V wave filter capacity (two),should be solved.

Yea your monitor is shot. Try it on another computer and see if it does the same thing. If it does not do the same thing, your video card or port is going bad in your computer.

I am trying to connect my laptop to the Polaroid LCD TV, as i would like to use the TV monitor as a computer monitor (my laptop monitor is broken). So I connect the correct wire to correct places, however...

The simple patch that I found (same problem) was to start by using any old monitor that I could borrow to set up my Dell Laptop.
After getting the Laptop booted on a regular monitor I right clicked on the desktop and went to properties then to the settings tab.
Here I found the dual monitor settings (#2 will usually be dis-abled by default.)
Click on #2 monitor and set the resolution to the lowest number (800 x 600 works well)
Then I clicked on "make this monitor my primary monitor"
As soon as I clicked apply the PC Windows screen appeared on the Polaroid TV screen

Earlier I had set the secondary monitor as "extend this screen to this monitor"
This also worked but I had to "drag the current screen to the right all the way off the
"borrowed monitor" until it appeared on the TV screen. The mouse pointer will be there also.
At first it took a little getting used to but in a few minutes I was up and running.
Hope this helps your situation

I can't get my iLO-2600 to completely work as a monitor.

The TV will always show as screen number 2 because the laptop screen will be found first. I use mine as a monitor for my Desktop.. However, for the picture to show what your laptop does you have to clone your desktop. The button should be where your screen properties are located.
