I've had my printer for 2 1/2 years, worked fine up until this month. It stopped printing. I uninstalled/reinstalled several times. I can install the software but it stops at 85% and won't connect. Is it my printer or computer?

This is a problem with either the formatter board or the dc controller, try doing an nv ram ( turn off the printer and hold down the right arrow and the cancel button, turn the printer back on and continue holding until you see permanent storage init). If this doesn't work call hp tech support 1800 334 5144 and ask for a case number. This printer has a service note which will cover the formatter for 2 years. Al
I had a similar issue with my 510. My printer would only print in b&w regardless of my settings in the printer setup. I uninstalled my printer driver and reinstalled a fresh one from disk. This cleared up my issue.
I have similar problem. Print head won't print, then I clean with alcohol, and get rid of old ink inside. But then head seems to just shut down. I have several print heads and printers that have plenty of ink, but head won't work. I refuse to think the print head will break so easily. I used my BJC 85 for YEARS with no problem whatsoever, and suddenly, since last winter, I have 4 printers that have stopped printing.
I usually end up just buying another used printer on ebay until that one stops printing.
Did you repaired old drivers? if so first uninstall your products drivers and also its folders from program files, then uninstall "wrong update" and reinstall scanner. sometimes built in scanning modules comes wrong but everything works with original scanning software, use different software to scan and some of them may work perfectlly.
Delete all printers, uninstall related drivers and printer software. I have uninstalled and deleted related folders (but don;'t delete from Recycle Bin in case you need to put them restore them). Boot up and Windows should reinstall correct drivers through the internet. Reinstall photo programs with disk that came with printer.
My Lexmark Z715 printer has always worked fine until this morning. I turned it on and the light blinked so I turned it off and then on again and the cartridge slamed one side of the pinter and then slamed the other side. I tried it several times and always the same. It would not stop in the middle so I could check it out. Does it need replacing?
