SOURCE: Jensen CD3010X Radio Problems

This happened to me too--with the same unit. I finally took it apart and found that the volume up button was shot. The tiny piece of metal that makes electronic contact had actually snapped in the middle causing contact to be made at random by bumps rattles or just about anything. Since the unit automatically comes on when the volume button is pressed, even turning it off was ineffective. So...I unsoldered one of the buttons that I never used much and soldered it where the broken volume button had been. I'm no expert, so I was rather surprised when the unit worked after i reattached it in my dash. Anyways, it was a cheap fix for a cheap--and poorly made deck. good luck

FM Reception with Jensen MSR3007

I have the exact same problem with the exact same stereo. I started by removing the in-line AM/FM/VHF Separator and connecting the antenna directly to the stereo. The static/popping/fade-out continued. Today I swapped to a new antenna, but it did not help. I swapped back to the original antenna and for a brief while, I had good reception. The I went to coil the excess antenna cable and the static/popping/fade-out resumed. I have narrowed it down to either the antenna connector coming out of the back of the stereo or an internal circuit. Either way, it does not look like a do-it-yourself fix.

I have a model Jensen MCD 5110 and the face plate keeps flashing and all the stations look like they are searching for a channel..The other problem is the volume won't go past number 12 out of 46 and I can...

the unit is shot there is no hope for it. i have seen this problem many times in boats and never been able to fix the problem. i have had customers send the unit back to jensen and received a new one but check and see if your 1 yr guarantee is still good.
