Did you use the Fn key and either F5, 6, or 7 to select the internal, external, or both? It depend on the make and model of the laptop.

No input monitor signal

Sounds like the video card inside the computer is bad. If the monitor was bad it would not be able to display the No Input Signal. To make sure, try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same No Input Signal message then your video card is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays and works ok, then your original monitor or lcd screen is bad.

If you have a laptop, The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

K8NF4G MOTHERBOARD IS NOT WORKING

Your Video Card (Graphics Card) is probably bad. To isolate the problem connect another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same NO Signal Message then your video card is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays and works correctly, then your original monitor is bad. The fact that your monitor displays the No Signal Message on it shows that the monitor is ok.

My laptop stopped picking up wifi after a much needed modification. I have a 3 year old hp pavilion dv9000. the hinges broke so I decided to remove the monitor of the laptop and hook it up to a desktop...

That is because the WI-FI antenna wires were on the LCD panel behind the glass.

Currently your laptop base has no signal. The only solution is that you may pick up a signal with the base alone, if it is near the wireless router about 20' (3 meters).

I have a samsung syncmaster 940mw and i am trying to connect my laptop to it but the menu for the pc input is greyed out, can you help

Make sure that under display properties in your computer, that the laptop is outputting an image. The PC option will not show up unless there is a signal to the monitor from the laptop.

Can not connect with my laptop. the screen doesn't shows anything

It is not enough to just connect the monitor to the laptop. You have to set the laptop to send the video signal out of the video port to the monitor.
The way you could do this differs depending on your laptop's make & model, but usually this is done by pressing the function key (Fn) on the laptop's keyboard, plus another key labeled as "CRT/LCD" or having a symbol representing a monitor or a computer.
Better refer to your laptop's user manual, or specify its make & model so that I am able to check it for you.

Wireless connection

Sometimes the wireless card will pick up any signal it finds, like your neighbors..go into control panel and network connections and take a look if there are other signals being picked up. If so there will be more than one connection showing. Click on your connection and that should set it to automatically always connect to yours and not someone else's...if the wirelss card was not functioning then you would not get any signal at all...finally try starting your laptop next to your router and see if that works better, there may be some interference in the house not allowing you to get a strong signal..good luck. Please rate this solution.

I am trying to connect my laptop to the Polaroid LCD TV, as i would like to use the TV monitor as a computer monitor (my laptop monitor is broken). So I connect the correct wire to correct places, however...

The simple patch that I found (same problem) was to start by using any old monitor that I could borrow to set up my Dell Laptop.
After getting the Laptop booted on a regular monitor I right clicked on the desktop and went to properties then to the settings tab.
Here I found the dual monitor settings (#2 will usually be dis-abled by default.)
Click on #2 monitor and set the resolution to the lowest number (800 x 600 works well)
Then I clicked on "make this monitor my primary monitor"
As soon as I clicked apply the PC Windows screen appeared on the Polaroid TV screen

Earlier I had set the secondary monitor as "extend this screen to this monitor"
This also worked but I had to "drag the current screen to the right all the way off the
"borrowed monitor" until it appeared on the TV screen. The mouse pointer will be there also.
At first it took a little getting used to but in a few minutes I was up and running.
Hope this helps your situation
