Have you had a lot of water evaporate from your pool from the heat. As the water evaporates the salt content in the pool goes up. If so then drain a fair amount of the water out of the pool and add fresh water to fill it up again. Also unscrew the connector on the right side of the electrolytic cell and make sure the plates are clean. If that doesnt fix the problem than you may have to replace the cell.

I have an Intex Ultra frame 18x48 with the salt water system, I haven't added salt in a while and keep getting a high salt alert and I add water frequently because of the evaporation (which is well water)....

When water evaporates, it leaves the salt behind. Depending on your well water, it may also already contain salt - adding yet more salt to your pool each time you top up...
Perhaps try emptying your pool (all or partially) & starting again - don't think the old trick of sticking a potato into an over-salted soup to absorb the excess (& removing it before serving, of course) will work on a pool!

I have done everything the manual says, but my saltwater system will not stop blinking error code 91. The salt level is fine, and the cell is clean. Do I need to replace the cell. My pool is now green and...

Bummer!!! Looks like you checked both things that would cause the code 91 error for "Low Salt". Here's what I've done to solve my low salt "91 code in the past.. I overshoot by 1/2 bag = 20lbs of the recommended salt add quantity when the code appears. Calculate by using this formula..
.0067 X Pool Gallons. I have a 14,000 gallon pool and when I get the 91 code for low salt, I add about 110 lbs of salt. Manual says 93 lbs...let it circulate for 24 hours by running the pump only and then start the chlorination cycle.. Before doing this, you MUST make sure the cell in clean.. If any calcium buildup inside, it can give you a false "Low Salt" alarm.

I hope this helps!!

If this helps, please rate... Thanks

Thinking of getting a saltwater system and wondering if i will still need to use other chemicals along with the saltwater system

Yes,
Salt system is ok but really only makes it possible to not have to physicaly ad liquid or tablet chlorine
still need stabilizer, algaecide,ph up or down and so on
Actuall just one more thing to go wrong and to maintain

Hi i have a 18 x 48 above ground intex frame pool with a salt water pump /chlorinator system. i have put the required amount of salt in 75 kg and it has fully desolved. the alarm keep coming up on the pump...

Hello,
the amount of salt that they reccomend in the book is just a starting point
You need to get a salt test kit that reads in #'s not colors
Get your pool to as close to 3000ppm as possible
lower than 2800ppm and you will not produce enough chlorine
any higher than 3500ppm and you can trigger high salt alarm, have bad tasting water, or even get cloudy water
Like you have done, when adding salt , filter only for 6 hours or so to fully disolve

Every 3-4 days, code 91 appears. We've added salt, cleaned cells but it keeps coming on

is it raining alot? are you adding water for splash out? to much sun tan oils? do you have stabilizer in the pool? What is your ph?There are so many variables
Most of all you really need a salt water test strip to make sure you are close to 3000ppm
anything lower than 2700 or so will make problems same thing if you are over 3600 or so.

keep your filter running by itself till you get close to the 3000ppm then try generating salt again.
This should solve your problems
If not, if you have a valid receipt you can call intex for up to 2 years and get a free replacement

Low salt alarm on Intex system

so what does the test strip say. Should be as close to 3000ppm as possible anything close and under 2700ppm will trigger a low salt also you must run filter only for 24 hours to thouroughly mix the salt before trying to turn on the generator

I don't know how much salt is needed for my 18x6 pool 3 bags have been added and the system keeps beeping more salt needed.

keep adding salt.(1 to 1/2 bag at a time - let mix in for an hour - re-test)

If you live in high rainfull areas - you will need to add about 1 to 2 bags of salt after every heavy rainfull.

Code 93 saltwater system

Hi, Code 93 is telling you that the system is done running, did you mean to say it said 92? That code would be for too much salt. If indeed it is a Code 92 you are getting, give Intex a call, or email. I have found their website to be very helpful, they have a F&Q's area. Good luck!
