Question about Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer
The printer is drawing a strong current when it gets ready to print. I have a similar thing with my Brother MFC-4800. The lights in my room dim slightly when it starts printing.
I won't go out on a limb and say it's nothing to worry about. If you're really happy with this printer and want to keep it, you might consider having an electronics tech look into your problem. On the other hand, if you're tired of the alarms and upset, then you might want to shop for another laser printer.
Another possibility is calling their Customer Service (even though this is a discontinued model) in Tennessee (United States).
