If you meant that the cable was tested working with another TV but is not tuning to your set, it is possible that the Tuner is faulty and must be changed.
Alternatively in this case you can go for the digital box and get your cable converted by the digital box to composite video and audio signal that will go into the AV of your TV using RCA cords.
when replacing Tuner, take care to desolder with a good desodering station so as not to damage the PCB

Determine if the Ant Input is properly connected direct

( visual needed ) to the TV built in Tuner.

Or have the option of utilizing a separate tuner like

from VCR or a set top Box and connect it how you

connect your DVD player.

Going back to your TV Ant Input,

these problem can also be from succeeding VIF

circuits and Microprocessor that goes hand and hand

with the proper applied voltages on the Tuner.

Should you feel to DIY, you may need tools and

knowledge to troubleshoot these kind of symptoms.

on a component level troubleshooting.

    SAP or Simulated Audio Program,

as the name implies, refers to Audio only, not the programs ( channel frequency )

you are searching, when it is activated you can still see pictures but necessarily

have audio or sound depending on the broadcasting channel

Is your TV set up to "cable" rather than antenna in the settings before you do a channel search?

It sounds simple but It is something most people would overlook. Let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

S.A.P. stands for secondard audio programing. It is fof changing the language to Spanish or French.

Come to think about it some cable networks are changing their networks to all digital so this could be where the problem is. Comcast has sent out recievers to all customer (even with newer tv's) to let them recieve stations. This could be it. Have you called and spoken with your cable company yet?? also, what is your service and what area are you in and I could see if I can get info.

ok,if you have a subscription to cable, you will have a cable box,you will only need to put your tv on cable and ch 3 or 4 on your tv,you dont need to search for channels,if you dont have a subscription, then you are trying to pick up over the air channels, they are called digital channels, you will need a digital tv antenna and your hdtv, you will change the settings on your tv to air or antenna, then you can search for digital channels, there are no more analog channels like we had when we are kids, they are all digital and dont need to be tuned in,if you still cant get channels please have someone help you.

Is there a reset default setting?

Do you recieve any channels if you run the cable directly from the wall to the TV and do a channel search? You may have to switch your TV over to a different input source if you are using a box. Please email me at tina-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com for more information. Thanks!

TV not finding Digital Channels from Cable Box

I don't know where you're located but you may want to double check with Time Warner on the availibilty of an HD box. I have TWC with an HD tier package and have an HDMI out on the box that runs directly into HDMI on this TV. Hope that helps!
