When the memory card's in the unit, pictures should automatically go to the memory card, so that makes me suspect that the card isn't getting detected. I'm thinking that there may be a slightly corroded contact in the internal contacts in the camera. You can take some electrical contact cleaner and try to spray them, or use a qtip, gently, soaked in isopropyl alcohol. It could also be a cracked trace going from the memory socket to the main board, and that would take disassembling the camera to identify and try to resolder it. Try the cleaning, since that's usually what causes problems like this.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this gets it working.

oh thank you so much. Since you mentioned about the corroded contact in the internal contacts in the camera, i figured there might be something wrong with my micro sd card, so i switched to a new one, and now its good, on and off goes straight to the memory card.

Glad you got it working! Good job! You might be able to clean the contacts on the bad memory card and get it working again...good luck!

I took some photos on my tough TG 310 with no memory card, i can view the images on the camera when the card is not in the camera but i can't see the images on my computer and can't upload them, is there a...

You have two options. If you normally transfer your photos by connecting your camera to your computer, remove the memory card before making the connection. This will allow the computer to see the photos in the camera's internal memory.

If you normally transfer your photos by putting the memory card into a card reader, use the Backup command in the Settings-1 menu to transfer the photos from the camera's internal memory to the memory card, then transfer the photos from the card to the computer as normal. See page 48 of this manual:

Olympus stylus tough 6000

There's a low chance of it after the camera started getting hot during the recharge. It sounds like water got past the internal seals, and to dry it out properly will require opening the camera and essentially opening all of the seals to get the water to evaporate. If you leave it closed up, the circuitry inside will corrode.

Meanwhile, there is at least one circuit that already shorted and caused the camera to heat up. There's no way to determine whether anything actually burned out or whether it just needs the water to evaporate.

I have a Polaroid a310 I recently bought a card for it it is a Sony 4GB. I put it in and started taking pics, they went to the internal memory. Then I went to the menu to copy to card it said no files...

I have had the same problems with Sony memory cards before. I found out that most Sony memory cards work only with Sony Cameras. This is because most drivers used to manage these memories are licensed by Sony.
Try getting another kind of memory card for your camera. I recommend Kingston memories.
Good Luck!

digital cameras have always "eaten" batteries. tho there may be an internal defect in the camera i would suggest purchasing a good set of rechargale batteries and charger for them.
