after it starts leaking, open the dishwasher & look for suds floating on the water. do the suds stay longer than 10 seconds or so? if so, then liquid dish soap (dawn, etc.) is getting introduced into the dishwasher

am not sure.. just try this
Check with a multi-meter for 115/220V on motor's tags.
If you don't get this voltage measurement, your problem is not with the motor.
In case you have 115/220V on motor's tags, try first to replace its brushes (2 carbon contacts that transfer the curent to the motor's armature).
try this good luck

First, check the holes on the upper spray arm. They should be clear of food and debris.
Next, There's a check valve (ball) built into the motor unit. Either it's stuck, or the motor isn't pausing at the appropriate time to switch from bottom spray to top spray. You can test the check valve by opening the door momentarily while it's running. The spray noise inside should sound distinctly different. Pausing longer will switch back to the lower spray arm.
If the check valve works, you'll need a new timer.

I successfully replaced the broken handle for my ELECTROLUX 24" Built-In DISHWASHER Model FDB956RB.
Try to check to make sure you reassembled all the parts and wire connectors properly.
Other than the broken handle, did you have other problems prior to replacing the handle/latch?

Hello Theresa Norman-Ramirez - Typically, it is normal for the dishwasher to delay the cycle and depending on the cycle and options selected, the cycle may last up to 4 hours. To reduce cycle time, turn on the hot water at the sink and allow it to get as hot as possible (between 120 F-130 F), then start the dishwasher. If the dishwasher cycle runs longer than 4 hours the main control board may need replacing. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.

water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there
is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What
is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch
must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the
motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be
good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn
around to inject with pressure. If so
the pump must be checked for clogging.
