Hi,

You can change this by adjusting the line spacing option.

You are talking while typing wright.

You can select the whole document by Ctrl+A.

Right click & select the paragraph option.

You can find spacing & line spacing.

In the line spacing select the numbers as you like.

Its better to use it as 1.5.

And click on ok.

Good Luck.

When I hit "Enter" it always double spaces. What do I need to do to get single space?

Your word default is set to double space. You need to find your paragraph setting, depending on the version of Microsoft Office you are using. Once you find the paragraph settings, you need to set it to single spacing and set the "spacing before" and "spacing after" to zero as in the attached picture.

One way to set the option is to hit control-A to highlight the whole document and then right click, and then click on Paragraph.

How to remove the text from the Desktop icon or from any directory or file

You can remove the text from any icon, directory or file, you just need to rename the file, directory or icon, just go to rename option and set blank name or single space-bar entry but the problem is that, windows will not allow you to set blank name or name with single space-bar entry. Here interesting thing is this, window will allow you to use the ASCII code for a space, which is 0160.

b99e6d4.jpg
First of all you can clear all the text from that icon
Now type the ASCII code, simply hold the Alt key, type the number 0160 from the number pad and release the Alt key then press Enter button to finish the process. (Note. you can also put some special character in place of text by pressing some different ASCII codes like - 6560, 2456, 4251 etc......)

Spacing letter

If you look at the toolbar at the top there is a button for spacing options. Just select your options from there. If you just 'hover' your curser over each one you will see 'spacing' to the left of the toolbar.

Can anyone explain how batch file works?

This is kind of tricky not knowing how familiar you are with the commandline, but a batch file simply contains single commands and executes them in order (usually from top to bottom). A batch file (or bash script in Linux) can be very helpful if you have to run certain commands over and over again, so you don't have to write them by hand.

An Example: You want to store your network settings in a text file.
You open the command prompt (WIN+R) and type this line:
mkdir C:\Network
Then you type this line:
ipconfig /all > C:\Network\ipconfig.txt
The first line creates a folder on your C: drive called "Network"
The second line runs the ipconfig command and saves it as a text file in that new folder.

To make a batch file, you open Notepad and insert the two lines. Then save it as "IP.bat" (make sure not to save it as "IP.bat.txt"! This is the most common mistake. If you save a file from Notepad, select "All Files" in the "Save As Type" dialog. Otherwise it will save it as a .txt file and you have to rename it later.)

Now you can double click the batch file and it runs all commands in the file.

You can also see the danger. If you run a batch file and don't know what it really does, it can destroy your whole system. So make sure you understand it and/or get it from a trustworthy source.

A nice example of how complex a batch file can be is here:
AllHelp.bat

Copy the content into a text file, save it as AllHelp.bat, run it and it will create a webpage with all available DOS commands.

Hope this helps - otherwise let me know if you have specific questions.
Enjoy!

How to setup a password?

Go to the control panel and select, "User Accounts" and double left mouse click the on that icon. Next, you will see, "Pick a Task" at the top of that window and, closer to the bottom you will see, "or pick an account to change". Now if the password you want to setup an account for has not been created yet, you will need to create one go to Part 1. If the account icon is present go to Part 2. Part 1, You will need to select the second selection, "create an account". Then single left mouse click that icon and, next you will be asked to "Name the new account". Enter the name you want the account to be called and, single left mouse click, "Next". Next you will need to select the account type. Account type can be "Computer Aministrator" or, "Limited". Stroll the mouse over those positions and, a description of the two different accounts will be given. This should help you to decide which account type to choose. Next stroll down and select, "create an account". This will send you back to a previous screen and, display a new icon with the account you just created.

Part 2, Now double left mouse click the newly created account icon or, the already present account icon and it will say, "what do you want to change about (the name in which you gave the account)'s account or, your account". Next, notice the second selection say's, "create a password" and, single left mouse click that selection. This will move you to a screen that ask's you to enter the password twice and, create a hint in case you forget the password. Simply fill in the blanks and, select at the lower right, "Create Password". Now your done and close the window and, the account will be present at start up and will request a password for that account.
