Hi,

"noisy vertical bars in the video" is indicative of 60 Hz AC component riding in with the video signal. Pls check that all connectors are snug and fit to where they are connected. It would do no harm to try to remove and reinstall/reconnect all cables. Additionally, try plugging in the monitor into a different socket/AC mains. Further, you may want to try and check your cable for any stray shielding or anything out of the ordinary.

Other than the above, could not suggest more easy user action. The alternatives are to try a different monitor to determine if it is the computer video card or the Acer 1717 that is in question; or try the Acer 1717 in another PC. It should be mentioned that some household appliances can also cause AC interference such as florescent lamps, wireless phones or even an electric clock.

Of course you can also try increasing your PC's Screen refresh Rate to anything other than 60Hz.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

It sounds like you may have bad capacitors on the power circuit board inside your monitor.If you are willing to try a repair yourself,let me know,i can try guide you :)

Acer V223W off center


it happened to me. I changed computers but that did not solve the problem so it's not the video card. what did help was I turned off the monitor to reboot it then, using a different computer I reset the resolution to the lowest possible setting. when the monitor adjusted to the new resolution it reset itself. I then set it back to the higher resolution and everything was centered again.

Is Acer 1717 Display board and Acer 1716 board are the same? I need a replace ro my Acer 1717.. But there are no boards available.. But Acer 1716 boards are available.. Someone help.. Thanks a lot...


There are more than one version of the AL1717, also more than one version of the AL1716.

Hi! I have an ACER LCD MODEL 1717 F but no sound. Kindly solve this problem.


First right click my computer then click properties then hardware then device manager and expand the sound video and game controller and see if the driver is marked with yellow question mark or marked with red X then you will have to reload the drivers and if you dont see any audio drivers then switch of the computer press del and enter bios and enable the audio device then click the volume control in theoolbar and check wether mute is clicked if clicked remove them and adjust volume slider to high

You have to plug the monitor speakers in. The sound output from your sound card is green, and you connect a small cable between that port and the input on your monitor.

I am getting vertical bars moving up on my screen


vertical bars in video can be caused of poor filtering of voltage on the power supply,you need to open the back of the tv to repair the power supply.replace all bulging capacitor this causes the problem.Tnx

No sound coming from acer al 1717 monitor after formatting the system


If your system worked before formatting the unit, reload your sound drivers.
You may need to remove from the device manager first.

i think the probelem is monitor resolution out of range . connecte the system other moniter and chage resolution then try .80% problem is fixed or other probelem is monitor hardware falier

Acer AL1914 black screen, green light


it sounds like a deleted driver? try getting the driver for the monitor, did you loose the Operating system at some point, if so try a system restore to a date when the computer was working properlly prior to the malfunction. It sounds like it restored you to a time before the driver for that monitor was installed.
