Question about Maytag Ensignia MAV3757AWW Top Load Washer

Open Question

My Maytag mav3757aww Ensignia makes a god awful noise when agitating. We took it apart to find that the pully assembly that attaches to the transmission (the plastic housing) is rubbing and making the contact to make the noise. Is there replacement parts for this?

The bearings on Maytag Ensignia's are part of the seals that keep the water in. Once you start hearing the bearings begining to go, you likely will have a leak following shortly thereafter as the bearing greased is washed out by your laundry soap. Up front. This is a procedure that requires specialty tools and takes me about 45-60 minutes to complete. The easiest way to tackel this job is to take your model number (just on the back side of the console) and take it to a local appliance parts store. Ask them for a tub seal kit. (I can't give you a part number since there is no model number listed) but they should be able to pull it up for you. When they bring it up to the front, inside the seal kit is not only step-by-step directions, but also the part numbers for the specialized tools required as well. If you opt to go the repairman route, I'll forewarn you, the company I worked for charged around 250-300 for the repair on this. Send me back a message if you have any troubles or other questions.

SOURCE: Grinding sound during agitation cycle on my Maytag Performa

Its probably you stator plate and rotor. But you need special tools for this repair. There a spring that is under 200 pounds of pressure and if you take the screws off that hold the plate its going to fly into you face if your dont use the special tools to depress the spring. Is it more of a clanking kinda of noise? DOes it olnly happen with heavy loads? Try this out. Fill the washer with water only. and get it into a wash cycle with water only. If there is no noise then put in like a load of towels. A heavy load. Now if you hear the noise now then its for sure you stator plate and rotor..hope this helps, but like i said you need those special tools to do this repair or injury can result from the spring part.

SOURCE: maytag PAV2300AWW Washer makes grinding sound when agitating

Sounds like it is the bearing on the water pump. Take off back plate and replace and remove 3 screws and two hoses (the one hose is a waste line so make sure you have a bucket to empty our waste water) after removing these remove belt on bottom of pump.

My Maytag Ensignia is filling with water then stopping. If I manually move it through the cycle it does nothing. Won't spin or drain. There is no noise when it goes to the agitate or spin cycle (as if it...

f the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. You will need a putty knife to release the clips located of the front corners of the of the lid. If you look along the seam of the top and the front panel, just near the corners, you will see them. Just push in on the clips and lift the top to access the switch. Here is a link to the part.

My maytag ensignia fills with water but stops after that. if you turn the knob to the next step, it will agitate but it wont go to the next step by itself.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the Timer(part#7 in the picture) has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Also, check the Timer knob and if you hear a clicking sound then its certain that you need to replace the Timer as everything else seems to be working fine. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

My Maytag Ensignia washer is not spinning well. It bangs side to side with even the smallest loads. It seems like something is loose. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need a repair mans help....

Try leveling the washer... If the washer is level, then don't wrap the clothes around the agitator...drop the clothes straight in, on top of each other evenly around the agitator. The Ensignia washer has a Dual action agitator... That means the clothes roll over them selves, instead of moving side to side, as with a traditional agitator. wrapping the clothes around the agitator will cause the load to be un balanced and then cause the "banging" noise... this should take care of the problem...

Machine will not agitate. makes noise

HI. This issue you are having concerning the noise you are hearing from the agitator, can be resolved by replacing the clutch assembly. This assembly is responsible for initiating the agitating nature of this device. Seems to be some stripped out pieces that are vital to smooth and correct motion. I would also take a good look at the drive shaft assembl;y as well. there may be parts here that may need to be replaced as well. Finally, I would check to make sure the gear case(tranmission) is also functioning correctly. i suspect the clutch assembly is stripped or missing some vital parts that have broken off.

please rate and god bless.
