Hello click this link http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/M0606107-00007.png this is the sump area of your dishwasher. As to leaving food particules behind you would look where part number 8 is this is the chopper and sometimes the food it does shred up is left behind. You can also look at part number 14 which is the drain pump and assure there are no obstructions in either the pump or the line that goes to your drain area. Sometimes I also find a unit can also be in need of a good cleaning on the inside as well and Home Depot happens to sell a product called AFFRESH that cleans the inside of the dishwasher by running a tablet in the dishwasher with no dishes and on your hottest setting. If you have any further questions message me back and please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks Rick

My amana softsound III Model DWA63AL doesn't seem to get dishes clean. I have cleaned filters and everthing seems to operate ok. Water temp good. any advice?

Many people are having trouble with poor performance due to recent EPA changes required in dish washing detergent.
If it makes as much water splashing noise as it used to but it still leaves residue and undissolved food behind...then it's probably the detergent. That's what does the work.

I have a kenmore dishwasher. I had it checked out by service and there is nothing wrong with it however it leaves a white film on my dishes. What can i do to stop this?

You may try a different detergent, and this may give you some relief. What works best, in my opinion, is to use the least amount of detergent that you can, and still get the dishes clean. Cut the added detergent in half, and go downwards from there. We are currently using ~25% of the recommended amount, and the dishes clean up very well, with no residue.
Rinsing excess food off of the dishes prevents the soft food disposer in most new models from being overwhelmed, and will increase the overall performance of your machine over several cycles.
Also, using a good rinse agent will help, as will opening the cabinet door after the drying cycle (while still warm), allowing the dishes to continue to air dry.
Hope that this gives you some relief.

Best regards,

Dishes and glasses are not coming out clean even inside of dishwasher has some residue left on it after washing

Most dishwashers have a soil separator which separates the soil from the water while it's washing. When a wash cycle is over a valve opens in the separator to allow the soil to go down the drain. If it's not working properly the washer will leave a film or food particles on the dishes.
Post your model number and I'll try to find a diagram which shows you your parts.

USE JET DRY and clean the system every once in awhile by running it through a cycle with no dishes and use washer cleaner for that model.

My dishwasher leaves dishes wet and with food particles on them.

The wet is from either a burned out heating element or an improper setting. The food part--clean the screen at the drain, inside the unit.

Kenmore elite dishwasher leaves food particles on dishes

If someone is putting dishes in the washer and obstructing the spray ams that would cause food to stay on dishes. After loading dishwasher and pushing in baskets make sure the spray arm doesnt hit any of the dishes causing them to not clean properly. If that doesnt work or is definately not your problem try removing the spray arm and seeing if it has food inside of it. Some times they get food build up in them and need to be flushed out.

Dishwasher is not washing dishes.

Make sure your water is at least 120 degrees and change to a dishwasher detergent with a water softener and a rinse aid in it.
