Dvd player Hi my name is Owen Hylton and I have had my Movietime DV10 since January 2007. The DVD player is no longer reading dvds. i bought a dvd cleaner and it won't read that either. My warrenty was apparently a year. Optoma say I have to send it to them and for a £100 they will assess the problem. I am nervous about posting it. I am based in London UK. I could do with some help. Thanks

I've had the Optoma DV10 since Nov 2006 and the DVD player stopped working recently. Can someone help me fix the problem? Thanks.

Hi Owen here, I didn't understand the reply, unless it was saying the only answer is to get a new projector. Everything else works. My only current solution is either to send the projector back or buy a dvd player and connect it to my projector. Not sure which to do.

    Thanks anyway Owen

I have the same problem...the second time that it's happened. I expect is a design fault with the top DVD loading area.

Hi

Just want to let you know that after i perchased my dv10 from USA it was locked to region 1 and will not play dvds from UK.
I succesfully unlocked it with a hack but again it stopped playing dvds from the UK after 2 years and soon i play dvd it will say"no disc".
I wrote the hack differently and succesfully unlocked it again.
no problems since then.it plays all regions.

My DVD player will not read DVDs but projects other sources fine. What is the problems and how do I fix it?

I would clean the laser on the dvd drive with a cloth. It may be dirty. if not the reader and laser itself could be bad. Try unplugging and plugging it in.

Hi i have an optoma dv10 but when you put in any dvd it just comes up no disc

Seems a very common problem with this model from what i can glean on the web.. Mine failed excatly as yours nine months ago and my local electronic repair man said optoma refuse to supply him with parts.I had to rig it up to a DVD player, but now the colour wheel has gone kaput. Optoma quoting £300 to fix but won't say exactly until you send it back to them. Have decided to buy Epson and cut my losses..

It doesn't play the movie. It says can't read

This seems to be a common problem with optoma DV10 series. I'm assuming that is why they discontinued that model. We hooked up a playstation or dvd player and use that instead.

DV10 optoma movie time is suddenly not recognizing DVD disks. It has been working fine for nearly two years. The projector works fine when connected to the TV box. The disk player spins but will not read...

there are dvd cleaning disks that work ok. you can get them at best buy or radio shack. they'll just lightly brush the dust off of the lens on the optical pickup. if the unit is is humid conditions, you'll need to use a lint free microfiber lens cloth and gently brush the dirt off of the lens. if there is stuff stuck to it, you'll need denatured alcohol with a scratch free fiber swab to wash off the lens (don't use a lot of alcohol). blow it dry and test it out.

Optoma dv10

Hook the coax line into a source with a built in tv tuner line a VCR or an LG DVD Player/Recorder.

Then run the connect the picture output from the source to one of the Optoma's picture inputs.

Use the source's remote control to flip channels.

If you want to use the Optoma's speakers too, then just run the audio outplugs into the Optoma's audio input. Done.

A message appears saying "no disc" and DVD are not recognize anymore

If this unit has a built in DVD player, then the player's lens may need cleaning. There are lens cleaning discs available for this. If the unit does not have a built in player, then the same applies to your player & there is no problem with the projector itself.
