Hi You need to change fixing film assy ( heater with foil ).
If you want service manual write on emma.servis@gmail.com.

But change whole fixing unit. Its cost effective and you will be sure that everything would be OK regarding pressure and bushings.

My CPL 510 does not fuse all colors to the paper

Dear
from the Question I understood that the image formation and transfer to the paper is OK. Since the the toner used in for toner carts. are same properties except color of toner. If any of the toner carts. used other than recommended toner, this may happen.

If some of the area on paper or continuous, are not fixed (may be checked on wiping after printing) irrespective of color, Then there may be problem with fusser assy.
Before checking Pl. confirm the paper used and the paper setting on driver on PC to be matched.(fusing temp. is different for different paper).
Also check the printer service life. fusser assy. may be checked for toner stoked on the surface of the heater roller as well as on the pressure roller also check its surface for even pressure.

Thanks.

I've got 2 Kyocera 5030's that are smearing color copies

if the toner can be wiped off of the paper then your issue is the media settings or the fuser is failing. If the image is fixed onto the paper but just "looks" smeared then it could be the drum(s), transfer belt, color registration, or cleaning system.

Sharp Al1655cs copier black smudge down center of page about as wide as a pencil

Hi

Sounds like a fusing error . If your able to wipe the toner off the page its a fuser unit problem (replace fuser unit).

Also clean the copier's paper rollers. Marks on copies will occasionally be the result of a dirty paper-rolling mechanism. Simply access these rollers (your photocopier will likely have a plaque or series of signs indicating the locations of these areas) and wipe them off.

Clean the copier bed's glass plate. One of the most common causes of blemishes in photocopies is a dirty glass plate. In some cases a permanent mark, such as a scratch, will be present on the plate, showing up in every copy as a dark line or spot. However, most problems attributed to the glass plate can be fixed by wiping the plate with a soft towel and common household glass cleaner.

Clear any excess toner that has spilled or overflowed in the toner cartridge chamber. Excess toner will almost always result in blemishes on your copies. The most effective means of cleanup is to remove the toner cartridge and set it aside, thoroughly cleaning up any spilled toner in the compartment before putting the cartridge back in place.

Check for low toner levels. Low toner levels can actually contribute to unsightly lines and blotches on a photocopy. Most photocopiers will automatically indicate the need to replace an empty or low toner cartridge; while the toner is low, these models will permit continued copying. Consult your photocopier's instruction manual or key to warning lights and indicators for how to tell if the toner is low or empty.

The copy will print, but parts of the copy are smeared and can be wiped off with fingers leaving nothing on the copy in those areas.

Bad fusing unit. The fusing unit is the assembly that get hot and "fuses" the toner onto the paper just before the paper exits the machine. If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined you could replace the unit yourself. $150 to $180 for the fusing unit.
precisionroller.com has them. Part# R3200
Replacement consists of removing the back cover so you can unplus the wiring. The opening the right side door and removing 2 mounting screws.
Good Luck and Thank You for uning Fixya.

Dell 3110cn Color Laser Printer Certain colors will not adhere to the page when printed on heavy paper. Combination of green/black wipes off the paper when rubbed.

Either the paper is just too thick for the printer to fuse the toner correctly, or you've NOT selected the right paper type (in the printer driver options.

If you're just printing that same as you would on ordinary A4 paper, the fuser can't get enough heat through the thick paper to fuse the toner.

May be a wrong toner problem if you've done this successfully before, but only had this problem since changing toner cartridge(s)

Remove the toner/drum cartridge. Carefully rotate the drum, via the end with gear, to check the edges for toner spots like appear on the copies. If located on drum, GENTLY wipe off with a dry cotton ball. Reinstall cartridge. Check to see that spots are gone. If spots reappear, replace with new cartridge (drum most likely damaged)

Dell 1600n has been ghosting lately

The 1600n AIO (all-in-one) is a laser printer. Laser printer use a statically charged "drum" to place toner on the paper. Your ghosting problem may be from the drum itself becoming too charged or simply dirty and not the cartridge. Servicing laser printers is tricky business because they use a lot of wattage/voltage to create the static charge and also "bake" the image onto the paper. A very quick fix would be to de-ionize the drum and clean it thoroughly.

First, make sure you have the unit completely unplugged for, at least, ten to fifteen minutes before proceeding to ensure that all static charge has had a chance to dissopate.

Second, remove the toner cartridge and place it on some newspaper or paper towels. Inspect it for any residual toner and/or damage that may be causing the ghosting (look for cracks/grooves/lines in the cartridge that shouldn't be there).

Third, take a used dryer sheet (or one that's had most of the chemical fabric softener rinsed off and then completely dried) and wipe the entire drum to completely remove any static charge. Then, using denatured alcohol and static-free, lint-free wipes clean the entire drum to remove any remaining detritus. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

Last, wipe the drum down, one final time, with a clean dryer sheet or lint-free cloth. Reassemble the unit and replace the toner cartridge.

Run a few clean sheets (blank prints or copies) to further remove any particles knocked loose and check for any more "ghosting."

Final printing will be necessary to check for inconsistencies or success.
