Re: unable to install Audio driver
Just remove the uaa bus and other audio driver if present then reload the uaa then load the driver,if the problem persists then visit the manufacture website and download the latest drivers for the sound

Plug it into the audio output jack on the back of your Presario. There are probably 3 jacks that look like headphone jacks; use the green one. Don't forget to power on your speakers and ensure that the audio driver on the Presario is installed correctly.
You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB
support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or
Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on
this link to download the drivers: - www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html
The first thing that I suspect is that it couldn't locate the right drivers for installation. Still, I'd suggest that you try reinstalling the right drivers for you laptop. There's no harm reinstalling the drivers. Get the drivers for V2000 at this link, but you need to choose which OS are you using: Presario V2000 Audio Drivers. Take note too, that HP recommends that you delete your existing drivers first before installing the new ones.
The method of deleting and reinstalling can be found at Method 4: Delete and reinstall the original sound drivers of this LINK. That link includes the troubleshooting methods for audio/sound problems. You can go through the procedure that applies to you, but I'd still suggest that you do first METHOD 4.
Download Microsoft UAA drivers Uninstall your sound drivers through device manager then install th UAA drivers and reboot on reboot go to device manager and update sound drivers will go on net and find and install them give me a FIXYA when done please
please check out in my computer systems device manager if anything in the sound section is in red or yellow remove it. unless win xp was made for your laptop the drivers are not there. you need to go to compaq web site and download your drivers.
because the audio driver is not installed so it is looking for multimedia audio controller...
while the purchase of the laptop they will provide a manufacture cd which contains the drivers you must install from that ..
if you dont have the cd then you can download the audio driver from the below given site: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=500746&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=432985&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1098
Acer has a web site where you can download software for your Aspire 5580. Your Laptop has a intergrated sound chip, XP may not have installed the driver for your speaker/sound system. You can try downloading at the link below (page 2)," Audio driver v.126.96.36.19973", or you can install your audio driver from the restore CD that came with the notebook. No restore CD's! This site has everything installed onto your notebook.
1. if you choose windows vista instead of xp you can solve this issue. the drivers are available for vista only. visit www.hp.com for further proceedings.
2. when you use xp the drivers must be updated from device manager. if You give the installed location of the specific drivers you can easily get what u need.....
