Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Developed a hum/extraneous noise problem. attempted to disconnect and reconnect to clean contacts, but made things worse. tried to reconnect eliminating (non-dbx) graphic equalizer trying to eliminate in-between electronic components, but have lost/misplaced my original dbx schematic for my (fabulous!) dbx sf1-a speakers, and am paranoid about reconnecting without schematic. thanks, homer whitt e-mail: homerwhitt@sbcglobal.net phone: 210/655-7120 san antonio, texas

my problem is that i cannot find my wiring diagram for hooking up my dbx soundfield-1 speakers to my amplifier. the noise problem i can probably figure out myself, but when the speakers were disconnected, my recollection on the proper wiring to the dedicated equalizer that came with the speaker system is what has me stymied. i need to get a copy of the dbx wiring recommendation.

the soundcrafstmen pro4 amps have no hum until everything is connected. the yamaha 3090 integrated amp was recently service for an unrelated problem and was satisfactorily brought up to factory standards. between the pre-outs from the yamaha and the pro4 are a bsr graphic equalizer and the dbx dedicated (to the speaker) equalizer. i was attempting to isolate the (not ordinary sounding hum) noise by eliminating all the interim steps one at a time, taking into account the quality of the contact between patch cords (monster cable) and components. when a tried to reconnect the dbx without the bsr, the noise level went insane, and i was suddenly paranoid about trying to reconnect the less-than-standard (compared to standard speakers) dbs approach without locating my original paperwork for the proper connection. (similar to but not exactly like the setup for equalizers through tape loops)

Here's some schematics I found on the net:
http://www.musicparts.com/products.asp?Company=DBX
Not sure if they will help, but they might give you a clue.
Couldn't find anything else- you might try to contact the manufacturer on their web support site.

Cant help with the speaker wires but the hum is mains AC hum which is caused by faulty rectifier in the power supply, known in trade as AC ripple ,so if you can obtain a circuit diagram then check out the diodes in the power supply as one of them is going down

I have a 2011 Nissan Sentra. It has developed a loud hum and vibration to the steering wheel from the front end .it has 180,000km. Any ideas?

How are the tires? New? Old? Rotate them and see if noise goes away. Possibly front wheel bearing in the front drive axle where it goes thru the hub and rotor.......goes the noise get worse if you turn right or left slightly when driving it? If it gets worse on one side that is the side with the bad bearing.....replace as needed.

Still Rough Idle After Battery Disconnect

The first thing to do is not set up the idle speed, but to set the Idle mixture screw to lean best idle setting. First, turn in the mixture screw until the engine dies or runs worse, then back out the screw (recommend turning ¼ to ½ turn at a time). The engine should pick up speed and begin to smooth out.

The battery has nothing to do with the idle speed

I am seeing the code H02 on the display panel when attempting to play a DVD. I have attempted to play several different DVD's. I have also switched the unit to standby mode then back on. I then...

This is what the manual says:

Trouble may have occurred. The number following "H" depends on the status of the unit.
Reset procedure:
Press [POWER ?/I] to switch the unit to the standby mode and then back to ON. Alternatively, press
[POWER ?/I] to switch the unit to the standby mode, disconnect the AC power supply cord, and then
reconnect it.
If the service numbers fail to clear, note the service number and contact a qualified service person.

I know these things you have tried so here is the contact information for customer service:

In the U.S.A., contact the Panasonic Customer Call Center at
1-800-211-7262, or e-mail consumerproducts@panasonic.com, or the

Left side of picture is dark

This looks like it is caused by the T-CON board. This board supplies the signal to the LCD screen.

IF you knowledgeable in electronics repair or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can disconnect the T-CON cable and clean the contacts and reconnect it.
Sometime disconnecting this can make the picture change for the worse so you may have to disconnect/reconnect several times. If this does not solve the problem you may have to replace the board.
Be careful disconnecting the board because of the fine contacts. Do not damage anything.
Board looks inexpensive on eBay and other sites.

My FA-66 is connected to my MacBook Pro via Firewire. When I plug a secondary display in, it makes lots of extraneous noise, even worse if the PSU is not connected to the MacBook Pro. What is causing this?

Is the noise a constant hum? If it is such a noise, I suspect a faulty or poor performing power supply. Check the power supply that powers Edirol sound card for any improper ground. Another custom made power supply which is properly regulated (voltage) and at a higher ampere rate would be an idea to consider. I think your main issue is grounding because you say the case become worse when the MacBook PSU is not there. Because, you are loosing a ground path when you remove the PSU. Then it solely depends on the Edirol ground path. If that path not a good source of ground, there lies your problem.

Unit AW1091l has a bad vibration or hum, when it's on. Noise is worse on F2&F3.Unit cools to about 46 on high.Unit has also just been cleaned completely.

The bad hum or vibration can be a couple of things, a loose screw or motor mount, a loose or bent blade or wheel, or it's possible when unit was cleaned, if was cleaned with a water hose that water got on motor or shaft around the bearings and the bearings are seizing up.

KONICA 1015 COPIER - P.27 ERROR MESSAGE - - WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

2. Toner was added prior to adding developer and performing the TDS adjustment. Developer must be added FIRST at new machine set-up so that toner does not fall on the uncovered TDS sensor.
Run 47 mode, output code 51 until the code does not reoccur (may take 5 to 10 attempts) OR open the developer unit and clean the excess toner from the area of the TDS sensor. Then tilt the developer unit to allow fresh developer into this area.

3. Poor connection at CN95. The toner density sensor (TDS) is abnormal (0.2 V DC or lower). Reconnect CN95 (located under the front of the developer unit).

4. TDS failure. If version 16.0 is installed, P27 is displayed when the TDS is disconnected or fails. Check for proper connection prior to replacing the TDS.

Buzzing noise

well I think I have solved the problem...

After numerous attempts to isolate the unit from possible source of interference, I had the idea to
reset the base unit (disconnect and reconnect the power cable) and it seems to have worked!!!
Often the solution is the most obvious but our minds look for complications all the time!

thanks anyway

SR71

I am not sure about this model of mic but it could be as easy as twisting off the bottom. There could also be a screw near the XLR jack that has to be removed, or tightened. Some mics have the XLR jack glued in pretty tightly. I am giving you suggestions based on other mics, I haven't touched a SR71. Hope that helps! Baze
