    I have the same problem.

First i put the head and after the cartridges step by step as the indications.

I start it but i put normal paper since I don't see the Mp 101 paper from package.

It starts but after 2 minuts it said that the printing head isn't put correct. I redone the steps, but it appear Error B200.

It's new buy it yesterday, what the **** should I do, Ok I'll go to the store, but still isn't OK.

I too purchased a canon MX850 last night. We were following the startup directions and then the error code B200 appeared. The Website states technical service is available until 12:00am eastern time. I called at 10:00pm central time and they were closed. The hours are actually only until 10:00pm eastern time. I previously had a Canon i550 that was great and felt that this was a company that I could rely on. It is disappointing to see that they had not lived up to there standards of quality.

Yeah right, I just got off the phone to Canon support with the same error, and guess what "I'll give you a phone number for the nearest service centre" (an hour's drive away), oh, and yes, he told me that it would be just cheaper to go buy another printer. And by the way my error came up just after the power cord was unplugged accidentally. Before that happened, the printer worked absolutely fine. B200 (hardware error) from just the power cord being unplugged........I don't think so. But one thing I definitely know - I will never buy another Canon again. Support...haha, what s!upport!

On 6/01/10 Experienced B200. I turned off machine, unplugged power source. Same problem. I contacted Cannon. Same process. LIfted up top. Normally the ink cartridge slides out but this did not happen. Cannon felt the printer head needed to be replaced. My extended warranty was thru Staples so I contacted them. Went thru same process. They are replacing entire printer. Interesting note: Supposedly the printer head is considered a consumerable item so it is not replaced in warranty so Staples said they would replace the entire printer instead. Works either way for me.

High Voltage error? Use different power outlet or clean the print head. WTF!? You guys got to be kidding me. Unfortunately, I have the same problem on my MP540. It worked fine all the time but all out of a sudden and without changing anything on or around it, it showed error b200. I cleaned the fucken thing, switched it on and off, disconnected from power source without any success.
My advice (and that's what I am doing tomorrow!) do it like the guy from youtube and throw it from your house. My printer will be followed by my Acer notebook which died as well.

SOURCE: What is error B200 on Canon MX850?

The B200 error is a Voltage High Error. I read that you should try using a different power outlet and see if that works and if that doesn't work try cleaning the print head:

  1. Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. If for some reason it does not follow these instructions:
    • Unplug the printer
    • Manually slide the carriage over until you can get the ink cartridges out.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
  3. Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water or a mix of hot water and alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
  4. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab
  5. Allow to dry and replace the cartridges
  6. Try to print something

If it doesn't fix it then the board inside of the printer is faulty and you will have to replace the printer
Thanks. -Sa_Les_Ski

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.

Hi there!
If you're getting the error code B200 when you try to print on your Canon PIXMA MX850, there is nothing you can do except to have it repaired. This error code indicates a Voltage High Error of the Canon printer. If the printer is still under warranty, please contact Canon for further assistance.

I can not do anything on my printer. When I turn it orn the Error Code B200 is flashing on the printer screen. I need to know how to get rid of this code.

That error code is not listed on the known error codes for that model. Something to try is to turn off the machine, unplug the power cord from the power supply for five minutes. Plug the cord back in and turn on the machine. Give that a try and see if that fixes your problem. Otherwise I would suggest contacting Canon customer support at 1-800-OKCANON. Take care & good luck!

Well every advice is the same except a little altered (use a warm cotton swab to clean inside machine and on print head channels) but then it says if possible replace print head but honestly this has become a primitive Machine for turning humans into corpses - buy a new one.
