Question about HP Scanjet 4200c Flatbed Scanner
Here's the problemo i have a hp scanjet 4200c and use windows vista as my operating system but it says that its not compatable with my scanner is there some way to make it compatable
(and whats the point of windows vista anyways iv hade windows 95 that worked better is a terrible system just slowness and viruses so far)
if itll never be compatable is there a way to downgrade my system witout spending money for it?
After Vista servicepack1, your HP4200C Scanjet should work if you use the latest drivers from sj655en.exe downloaded from HP.com.

I'm having the same problem. Only I like Vista otherwise....just annoying that I can't get the scanner to work. Even running from the CD recognizes Vista as either NT or 98 and won't run the setup.
I've been told that Vista is a non-supported OS, because of the age of the scanner, so they say they will not be releasing any more drivers after XP (which is no longer being sold). HP has hit on a money making scam there!! Looks as though this one is hitting the trash bin and to never by HP again....For Pete Sakes!! Xerox still puts out drivers for their machines over 5 or 7 yrs old!!
