Black Ink Line when I print anything

A thick black ink prints on the back side of what ever I am trying to print. It just started doing this and I don't know why. It is messing up everything thing I am trying to print. My email address is julielonneman35@yahoo.com. Please contact me if you have a solution.

Thanks,

Julie Lonneman

I have the same problem.. Thick back line on back of printed page. I do alot of duplex printing too but line is always on one side. Tried to clean but did not help.

Same problem...no amount of cleaning or realigning makes a difference. Just started doing this recently.

I have the same issue,  The black strip down the back side is worse in B&W mode vs. color mode.  Using the bottom plate cleaning feature helps for a period of time, but the issue always comes back.  The other features of this unit are great, but this is a real show stopper.  Any solutions available would be appreciated (daveo@projectma.com)

Same issue with my printer that is 1.5 years old.  Worse in B&W mode, better when printing in the color mode.  Using the bottom plate cleaning feature helps for a while, but the issue keeps coming back.  The other features of this unit are great, but this is a real show stopper.  Could there be an issue with a bad batch of ink replacement canisters?  I am only buying the Canon version from Office Max.

Yes I have the same problem a thick black ink line on the back of the paper and no amount of bottom plating cleaning will fix it. It always comes back. Any assistance to fix this would be great. Email har_rrr@optusnet.com.au

This problem is probably caused by an overflowing waste ink reservoir pad. You need to get someone to change it.

Canon MP830 printing with interlacing shades of black

your printer cartridge or head unit ink channel (some of color or black ink channel) constipated, you may try:
1) if your ink cartridge is not new, take out the cartridge put the bottom surface touch cleaner liquid(special for ink printer) or water for 1 hr (you can see ink spread water), then set back and test. refill enough ink maybe necessary.
2) still trouble, you need clean print head ink channel to do same thing above, if your print head is separated from the cartridge.

MP830 prints a black stripe down the back of the paper

the waste ink pads are full ..when the black line appears it is an indicator that the waste ink pads are full it is usualy because the printer has reached its life expectancy the solution is either buy a new printer or pay a tech about 170 dollars to repair it

Black ink

The PGBK cartridge is a pigment black ink, while the others use a dye for coloration. The pigment black is used when printing text and other documents. The dye ink is used when printing photos and other colored documents. The dye black is used in conjunction with the color (dye) inks to provide tinting and color gradation, and therefore is not used nearly as much as the pigment black unless you use your printer only for printing photos.

If you're printing text and documents, you will need to buy another pigment black (PGBK) cartridge.
