Thanks but I need to know how to fix this...I know what the problem is as you described but this is not helping me with the problem. Can water be heating past safety limits within 15 seconds? There is a screw on the bottom of this unit does this suggest an adjustment can be made? Thank-you

This is an addendum to last message. The specific part on this pressure washer is a unloader valve UV760 series. Please refer to a manual to see what I'm talking about

    Thank-you

ok,the effective part i am refering to is the unloader valve,on a simpson 3000 washer,uv760 series if that helps.when under pressure,[trigger on washer not engaged],water shoots out @the unloader valve every 10 to 15 sec and reacts like i am starting to pull the trigger;[moter under load.i had referred to the high press overload but that is not where the water is coming from.can i rebuild or replace the unloader valve if this is the problem, andif so how do i detect what unit to replace it with?

    sorry about my terminology

    thanks R.

Some washers do have a high pressure relief...a lot like the thermal relief that J Trevino speaks of, but either way, your problem is that the "unloader valve", is not unloading properly. This Simpson unloader was a rare OEM piece only made by the original Simpson Co. switch is no longer in business. I saw a replacement New old stock on line for $400 dollars. Several differant manufacturers make similar and wholely adequate replacements that will U-Bolt to the same spot. General Pump and Giant Pump come to mind. Grainger, Northern Tool, Watercannon all sell this part. Match the pressure, the Gallon per minute, and the size and position of the inlet, the bypass, and the outlet for the easiest installation. I worked at a tool rental store during my college days and rented a similar unit quite often. I am puzzled about the high pressure valve that you describe. If I recall correctly, the units that we rented had a high temp relief valve. The springs were obtained in temperature incriments. Most likely water is heating past safety limits and releasing to allow fresh cooler water to enter loop. Do not leave the unit on bypass too long because water is looping thru unloader and heating up with every pass. Good Luck with your projects.

At the rental store, the pressure washers would get very high usage compared to yours for example, thus would get several years of use in very short time period. The mechanic was constantly replacing unloaders and thermal /pressure valves. The pressure /thermal valve has a seat that would be cut just like faucet seat. The valve is adjusted just a bit higher than unloader setting to help protect unloader. Best to lower pressure of unit to maybe 75-80 percent of max to preserve life of parts. Look here for universal eplacement parts, not expensive: http://www.pressure-washer-parts.com/pre...

If water was released due to high temp limit, you would see steam or just measure water temp and compare to temp marked on valve. If your valve has adjustment I would not increase pressure, but instead lower pressure of unit at regulator to temp solve problem.

I have a simpson G3000 pressure washer. The small high pressure line from the pump has developed a leak, (it's about 18"s) Do you have a part number I could use to get a replacement, or point me...

You can use a universal hose for replacement. This hose should not be under high pressure (usually inlet water hose pressure). This is a bypass that is used when you release the trigger to wand. Look closely at the brass fittings of the hose, sometimes they can be reused by removing the clamp and cutting off the rubber part. Use automotive rubber hose (suitable for hot water system/radiator )or black pressure hose from Lowes (sold bulk) that will fit snugly on the barb and use simple clamps. You can make new hose by buying barbs and hose from Lowes or hardware/plumbing store. Good luck

I bought a honda pressure washer power boss 3000. I load the gasoline, start the machine, but pressure water is not coming out from the trigger. i tried so many things , but can t get started.

If you are using a water tank for water supply, remove the water supply line from the pressure washer and connect a water hose from a faucet. Turn the water on, then crank the engine. Pull the trigger of the spray gun until water comes out. When then water starts to spray properly the release the trigger, shut engine down with pressure on the line then reconnect the water supply from the tank to the pressure washer. If this fixes the problem then the problem was "air-locked"! Happens alot with new pressure washers that have never been run. I am trying to disconnect the lower hose on this unit is a quick disconnect or does it screw off

If it is the trigger hose, more than likely it will screw off. You may need to squeeze the trigger to release the pressure in the hose. Then it should screw off.

NO PRessure

Hi It sounds to me like your unloader valve is stuck, this is the thing that is meant to move up and down when pressing the trigger. Please remove the unloader valve assembly and check for damage. If no damage is found then grease and lubricate this part and replace and this should work ok again.

2005 5.3 vortec top in no oil pres just got truck good moter or bad moter

have to see if the oil pump strainer is clooged...oil ports clogged??? was the motor taken care of...valve covers loaded up with sludge??? pan comes off the rest is to be looked at...if she was run on no oil pressure I sure would be suspect of this motor being in poor condition. Does it run???? Is it knocking?smoking? banging or clunking? if not put a gauge on the oil pressure sending unit hole and see if it really has no oil pressure or perhaps it has a bad sender?

No water pressure. feels like it is developing pressure in the pump but wont deliver more than a small stream and then enging cuts out like it is bogging down

Sounds like it could be just a main jet bloked in your lance. Please remove the jet and see if you have a good water flow when pressing the trigger.
