Question about Washing Machines
When you had the water lines off the unit did you check the filter screens where the hoses screw on? .Their are screens in the washer inlets to keep crud out the washer. These screens can be carefully removed cleaned and reinstalled .The cold side is always the one to cause the problem because the hot side most of the crud has settled in the hot water heater If for some reason that did not fix your problem you will need to replace the inlet valve solenoid assy. Hope this Helps GOOD LUCK

where your water lines connect there is a sc reen inside and if it is clogged with rust lime and or mineral deposit. it needs cleaned out. you can pull it out with a ice pick or something pointy. Check your screen first and if that doesn't fix ya then yes replace the unit.

Testimonial: "Help was appreciated. I bought part at local appliance store. Had to modify slightly to fit different mounting hole pattern. Works great!"
This problem may be attributed to a defective cold water solenoid on the water inlet valve. The following link explains how to access and/or replace:
If you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water, sediment and rust can often clog the valve or sediment screens in the hose and fittings. You can attempt to clean the valve by removing it and allowing it to soak in a 50/50 solution of distilled vinegar and water. Submerse the valve fittings in the solution and allow to soak for 30 minutes. Do not get the electrical contacts wet, however. Rinse with clean water. Make sure you also check the ends of the fill hoses as well. Many of them have restrictor screens that can also become clogged.
If you wish to replace the valve, replacements can be purchased at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartrspros.com, pcappliancerepair.com, or repairclinic.com. All these sites offer great service and competitive pricing, so shop around for the best deal. This isn't an expensive repair and its not difficult.
If you have questions, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: cold water pressure is very low
Do you have a regular "boiler drain" type valve for your cold water supply? Is it possible your washer came loose inside the valve like mine did?
You will of course have to turn off the water mail to check this.

SOURCE: The cold water trickles. There
Sounds to me like your inlet valve is gunked up. You will need to replace your inlet valve. I would also check your hoses first to make sure the cold water hose does not have a screen on it that is full of calcium deposits. Hope this helps _MJ_
