Question about ATI Mobility RADEON Graphic Card

1 Answer

Druid.. i had uninstalled the VIDEO CONTROLLER (VGA COMPATIBLE) with the yellow question mark with it at the device manager, and restart my computer. after it had turned on again it says A NEW HARDWARE IS FOUND.. i had install it but it looks for a CD-rom..i dont have it.. honestly my computer suffered from viruses.. that i cant even see the display icons at my desktop.. so i decided to reformat it.. but unluckily i lost the audio controller and the video controller.. thanks to some help i had researched the right AUDIO INSTALLER for my laptop.. now my only problem is with my VIDEO controller.. my display is so lag.. specially when i watch some movie or clips on the internet.. and even when i drag any open window in my screen it seemed it moves slow and the display is distorted.. and when i do try to install it with a driver that i had downloaded from the net, it says the STANDARD VGA ADAPTER or so is needed before i can proceed installing the video controller.. please help..i will answer all your question and investigation just to solve this problem of mine.. hoping, abO :(

Do you have the chipset driver CD? The driver CD that comes with the motherboard... You should be able to find the VGA driver on that. If you don't, then I am afraid I can do anything much..

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Want to make sure your drivers are in place and no errors have occurred? Simply click start right click on my computer select properties then select device manager scroll to Display Adapters and click on the small "+" you should see the model of your PCI Express graphic card there. If there is a problem with it, a yellow exclamation mark should appear besides it. If you don't see it everything is OK and your card is working properly.

Please, Help me.....

Hi,

1. Go to START, then CONTROL PANEL.
2. Look for the SYSTEM icon, click that.
3. Click HARDWARE tab, then click DEVICE MANAGER

This will display all Installed Device Drivers & Uninstalled device drivers, usually uninstalled device drivers got yellow exlamation mark icon on it.

4. Look for the Sound Device or Video Device, then right click on that and click UPDATE DRIVER.

5. You need to browse for the right and proper Device Driver for this device, if not available, you need to download the Driver from the internet, and usually the sound device is provided with CD Installer, use that.

6. If all procedures were done correctly, then that should solve your problem.

If this procedure helps you solve your problemt, please spare a little time to rate my solution.

Hi mango..

Your problem is beginning to bug ME!

Did you install the motherboard drivers when you reinstalled the operating system? This is the only thing that I can think of that may need doing from your description (you didn't mention doing this).

If not, try doing that. If you don't have your disk, try a Google search with the following string:

(Brand Name) (Model Number) +driver

This should bring up some sites that list your motherboard drivers.

Another way would be to use Windows Update and choose Custom (instead of Express) Install and select all the Drivers and Optional elements (as well as any Priority elements).

I think I have already asked this - Is there only 1 Video Adapter listed in Device Manager? If not, Disable the one that you don't want to use.

As regards viruses, I recommend using AVG Free - it is a good antivirus program that updates Definitions daily - and best of all, it is free! You will still need to do a full System scan at least once a month to catch any viruses that slipped through before the Definitions were updated though (same as for any antivirus program).

Let me know how you go.
