Question about Hoover S3765-040 WindTunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum
You are correct, the motor is done. Look at your local vac store for a quality vacuum made by Sebo or Miele. Replacing motors in chinese made vacs is a waste of money as the whole product was made to last only a couple of years

You have to remove the motor cover, There I believe 5 screw, take off the light lens and remove the screw holding the light. It should then pull off. You say you have power to the Vac, but do you have power to the motor. There also is a thermo by the motor, sometimes they open up, then the motor won't run.

These motors have a fuse incorporated in the field winding and it sounds like that blew. These motors sometimes overheat at the front bearing and the bearing will melt into the plastic housing. This will cause the fuse to blow. It sounds like that's your problem. You can remove the motor by removing the three screws on the bottom of the powerhead and then check the front bearing for any bubbling or blistering in the plastic housing. The shaft of the motor should turn easily.

You got the second hardest part done; the hardest part is what you're asking about.
To get the new belt onto the drive shaft I used a long screwdriver for leverage and wrapped the end close to the shaft and with some elbow grease, got it to "slip" on to the shaft. It took a couple of tries, but once I overcame the fear of the belt breaking (because it has to stretch big time), I managed to get it one. Of course, the other end of the belt has to be wrapped around the roller first.
I found a link for a tech manual for this model, but it didn't help much....

SOURCE: high pitch
The Hoover Fusion has design flaws in the motor, including a metal plate that is too thin to contain the forces acting on the motor, particularly the constant strong tension from the drive belt, and a plastic plate that is attached to the metal plate by two screws that gradually loosen over time. Assuming the filters and canister are clean, a high-pitched noise coming from the motor indicates it is about to fail as a result of these problems. You can replace the motor after it fails, but the problem will eventually occur again. For those very mechanically inclined, when the motor first starts making the high-pitched noise, you can dismantle it and tighten all screws.

change filters. the filter inside the unit and the one on the side needs to be changed once a yr. (these are not to be washed, only the side filter if foam can be washed ). also flat belt change every 6 months and the v-belt once a yr.
