Have you tried replacing the batteries, holding down the power button

Is there anything to suggest why it wouldn't start.

Any blinking lights or error messages?

Please let me know and I can further diagnose this problem better.

many of these experience a defective switch. May I suggest contacting Nikon at

if it is still under warranty, then they will fix it for free and are very willing to help, very good customer service. Give them a call and see what they want you to do. If not under warranty, then I would suggest opening the camera and checking the button/relay.

Let me know if you need help doing any of this or just further help, thanks

How much memmory support does it provide nikon coolpix p4 vr

The P4 has about 23MB of internal memory, which might hold five pictures at the camera's best resolution. The camera also accepts SD cards up to 2GB in size, which should hold several hundred pictures. And, of course, you can use multiple cards.
