GE Profile JGSP32GEV3BB slide in range - regulator went bad #WB19K5020

Bought range late 1997 - no problems until gas pressure regulator went out - GE no longer makes the part so I am stuck buying a new range! Anyone w/ similar problem?
Part is Maxitrol CV47 and is $30 (GE part # WB19K5020)
Three repairmen I contacted in search of this part said Ge no longer makes it! They said, "GE makes "garbage" these days and most parts are unavailable in 5 years!"

the regulator was making this loud humming sound when you tirned on the gas- i have extended warranty on all my appliances since I am in the military and they dx the problem - the part used to be around $29 but Maxitrol (who made the part for GE) no longer makes the part since GE cancelled its orders -i contacted Maxitrol and all the parts distributors in my area -

i am told GE does not guarantee any of their appliances past FIVE years - in fact after 5 years the parts are phased out -

trust me - i had 2 electronics guys (plus sears) come look at it too and they could not even modify another regulator to make it work - both of them also said ge is GARBAGE ELECTRONICS -

i even wrote a letter to the head of customer service and they ar the ones who told me that most appliances from GE don't guarantee parts plus FIVE YEARS! I bought a Tappan !

I would like respond to "Expert Brian"
GE makes garbage!
GE factory service is GARBAGE! Why? We call customer service about gas leaking (stove) The "tech" ha! came to my home with NOT GAS LEAK DETECTOR and said that the company has only two and need be requested time head. We called an independent guy, he has a gas leak detector with him and found the leak, then he called GE, spoke to customer service, and told her what was happening. GE schedule another appointment, and said "no trip charge" because what happened the first time Guess what happened? Yes, no gas leak detector, and a bad excuse, "i will get the leak detector and comeback in 4-5 days" That what you get from factory service. Yes, the independent guy fixed the problem with one plus, BETTER PRICE AND HONEST SERVICE.

"GE makes garbage" that's what a lot of independent servicers says about brands they can't become authorized to work on because GE for instance has factory service. What makes the repairman think the regulator is bad? It is highly unlikely to be the case.

You should have a pressure regulator between your stove and your propane bottle. It's probably delivering too much propane at too high of a pressure to the stove.. If you don't have a regulator, THAT would be your problem. A regulator set to too high a pressure makes flame too high and flame may even try to blow itself out. I've remedied this by taking a small cover off the center of the regulator and adjusting a screw.. (Not all regulators can be adjusted.) If adjusting isn't possible, I'd suggest a new pressure regulator (for LPG). Note: A regulator for LPG is NOT set up the same as a regulator for natural gas.

Ve a GE Xl44 Model JGBP26967P gas stove emitting carbon monoxide gas. To use the oven the house has to be open plus the vent has to turned on high. This is a big safety hazard. What can be done?

Check that there is a regulator .... and the gas pressure coming from the regulator to the manifold...if there is a regulator the gas pressure may be too high.....

the other problem would be dirty burners, but that would not be causing all of them to emit CO...

Maintop Filler Kit for GE slide-in range JSP42SNSS

Maintop Filler Kit for GE slide-in range JSP42SNSS was missing. I am not sure why your response to a simple question (in a form of a question/offer to sign up for Premium Assistance Plan) referred to a different model number for a gas kitchen range (mine is electric!).
I fixed it myself. I bought a piece of 2"x2" sheet metal angle, painted it black and attached it to the wall behind the range to close the gap.
No need to bother your "Elite Experts" and pay $19.99.
