Check for loose/ dirty battery connections. Check condition/ tension of the alternator drive belt. It would appear that there is a loose wire some where that is causing an intermittent power flow to the cpu

Why does my laptop always ask me if i need to scan my hard drive to fix my problems? I'm afraid of scanning because it might delete or format the hard drive.

If your laptop has not been shut down properly then when you boot up it wants to scan fix problems caused by not shutting down properly or by power failure. It will not format your computer so you won't loose you data. You could lose a file that was opened or not saved when the computer was turned off. If you continually stop the scan and not let the computer fix these problems, it could stop your computer from working properly.

My laptop seems to have stopped reading any discs, do you have any idea what may have caused this and how i can solve it?

Hi,

This might be caused by a loose connection. Try and screw loose the cd/dvd drive. Remove it and then insert it again and make sure it is fitted correctly. Tighten all the screws and check if it worked.

Hope this helps!

Computer Freezes unless pressure applied

With the laptop turned off, take out the hard drive completely from the laptop and then reseat it back into its slot and make sure its nice and snug.

Then go ahead and turn it on and see it will run without freezing on you and having to apply pressure on the keyboard.

If that doesn't work then disconnect the keyboard and see if it will run smoothly without the keyboard. If it does then you might have a stuck key on the keyboard that is making the unit freeze so you might have to replace the keyboard.

My neighbor's cb radio comes in on several frequencies.

All electronic devices are required to receive unwanted interference but not cause enterference them thats the best answer I can give you. Your neighbor might be operating with greater than 4 watts allowed by the FCC for citizen band transceivers.
