My mp3 player not working

My SanDisk Sansa c200 (1Gb MP3 Player player does not come out on Windows Media when pluged into usb connection

    My scandisc does not seem to be recognised by my computer, Running windows XP and version 9 of media player, but as I say the problem is that my computer does not recognise the mp3 / portable storage device

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

You can charge the MP3 player with the USB cable that came with your player by pluging it into the USB port of your computer OR into a 5 volt USB mains adapter.

Your SanDisk Sansa Player does not allow you to delete files from within the player. Deleting Music Files On Your Sansa MP3 Player When your player is connected to your computer with the USB connector, you can use your computer file browser software to view all files on your player. Your player will appear as Sansa m230 or m240. Follow these steps: Playing Music 1. Sansa Fuze player will not connect to the computer

Sansa Fuze can connect in either MTP or MSC mode.
MTP is Media Transfer Protocol when a software program like Windows
Media Player 10 or higher is installed.
MSC is Mass Storage Class when the player is detected as an external flash drive in "My Computer".

The connection mode can be set to one of the following USB modes:
auto detect:
the player will connect in MTP or MSC mode. It depends on the drivers that are installed for the USB ports for the operating system and extra media software, if the data on the player can be detected. In auto detect
mode, MTP mode detection is only possible when having Windows Media Player 10 or higher installed.
mtp:
detection on operating system Windows XP SP2 or higher, in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
msc:
detection on operating system Windows in the explorer in "My Computer" and on MAC operating system.

First, connect your SansaDisk to your computer via the USB cable. Secondly, open your Windows Media Player. You can sync the musics from your Windows Media Player to your MP3 player.

thats becuase you either have it off, or you put another deivice in your usb earlier and windows does not regognize it. try placing it in another usb port.

I can't download music onto my sansa mp3 player


If you have your manual see if you need to check your USB connection.
On your Sansa Player go to the Main Menu, find Settings. Choose MSC if you have Windows Media Player 9 or older. If you have Windows Media Player 10 you can leave it set as autodetect (MTP) setting.
hopefully this will get you out of your slump with your sansa.

Did you install the converter ?
otherwise try going My Computer, Your mp3 player's folder, and drag your media into the right folder.
