Refrigerator is on and running buy no longer cold. First the freezer went then the fridge part. Could this be an easy fix?

maybe it some sort of losing your freon you may need to refill it again but first do this //
1. check the bottom of your fridge, there is an air intake grill at the bottom, make sure this is clean and free of lint/ dust
2. make sure the thermostat inside is set properly
3. don't overload the freezer section. the cold air for the fridge comes from the freezer, and if you have too much stuff in the freezer, it will stop the air from being able to flow to the refrigerator section
4. Finally, if you're a little bit technically capable, check the back of the refrigerator, for a small 1/8" hose going down the back of it- make sure this line is clear and free of gunk

My wife posted the information below and I would like to add more to the story: We have two identical Amana Bottom Freezer Refrigerators, Model:BRD18V2S installed in our Kitchen. Both fridges are in an alcove and stand next to each other. One fridge is used as the beverage fridge and othe other is used as a food fridge. At about 10pm she noticed that an entire bottle (600ml) of Gin had cracked and emptied into the refrigerator section of the fridge used for beverages. We do not know how long the spilled gin was in the fridge. She mopped it up and we went to bed. At 7am the next morning, the beverage fridge and its freezer were showing 71 Degrees F. and everythind including the ice had melted. (We have aftermarket external temperature gages that show the fridge/freesor temperatures) The food fridge uninvolved with the gin spill was reading 68 Degrees F

You may want to see if you have the issue as described at www.AnyoneCanFixIt.com for this refrigerator where the freezer is cold, but he refrigerator is warm...it talks about how to listen for the fan, if no fan sound from within the freezer, there is the step by step instructions to fix available there at the web site.

I would check that fan motor in the freezer section is running. it distributes cold air from freezer into refrig section also if this motor is running the top portion of freezer will not get cold enough to allow ice production. the motor is easy to repl and is mod# specific you should be able to buy one online.

Couple things, both doing with air flow. If the fan in the lower freezer isn't working there will be no cold air moved into the upper fridge. If the defrost cycle happens to be dead then the coils down there will freeze solid and there can be no air flow over them to cool the upper area. You'll have to pull the lower drawer out and take off the interior rear panel to check these things. Hopefully it's just that the fan motor went out. It's real easy to change. Let me know what you find, if the coil is all iced up solid then there's more things you need to look into.
