Re: My frost free fridge freezer is set to high and still...
You may have ice blocking the opening in which your freezer air passes through to go into there refrigerator .Try this, unplug the refrigerator for for at least 14 hours ,that should allow all of the ice to melt. Then ,plug it back in and take the temperature of both freezer and fresh food sides. You should find a temperature that will hold at or very close to Zero degrees in your freezer side.Start with this for your first step in repairing this and get back to me.

Can you remove the freezer rear panel again and take some photos of the frost pattern so I may see what is stopping the cold airflow to the fresh food section?I'm here on Fixya if you have questions Contact Me Here Appliance 911 Sea Breeze
To fix up a frosted up vents, I had a control board replaced for $180. Then 6 months later, the bottom freezer frost up AGAIN. rather than dumping more money to fix it, I was about to buy a new fridge, but had a crazy idea: I disconnected the water to the freezer, bought plastic trays for ice cubes for $3 at walmart. Fridge has worked like a charm for 6 months. no signs of frost. Saved $1000's.
generally speaking the fridge is not frost free whilst the freezer is.you can reduce the amount of frost by checking door seals are tight to frame/drains are clean and free of s..t and ensuring food/drink is covered to cut down on condensation.if you have a seperate thermostat set it to +5C.
More than likely your freezer has a ice block in it it will have a lot of frost on the inside of the freezer. This ice block is usually caused by a bad timer or a bad heating element in the freezer. The timer kicks in a timed cycle to turn on the heating element and a hi heat limit keeps it from getting to hot just hot enough to melt any frost and ice. (thats how we have frost free fridges now)
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper)
between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it.
Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it
to run. There is a flap you adjust with
the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust
the fridge temp. The problem could be the electronic control if
you have one or the mechanical linkages.
Your defrost timer, switch or circuit board is probably shot or it would be defrosting.
Use a fridge / freezer thermometer to tell if temperture high (it should be 0 F plus or minus 5 degrees) to determine if it is too high - this is normal if frost builds up but will get worse unless repaired.
If all else fails I would completely defrosted the unit.If there is any blockage this will open up all the tubes.Unplug it open the doors put pans of hot water in the freezer to speed up the process.
Make sure your fan is still working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refridgerater may be blocked. With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open 12 to 24 hrs this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck. Len West
Your question is: freezer is icing up and fridge temperature has risen to 10 from 5. Also alot of condensation in the fridge and the fan doesnt seem to be working in fridge. Correct temperature on freezer -18 but ice. new frost free fridge freezer bought 1.5 weeks ago
This is no problem for you. You are under warranty and as long as you have not tryed to repair it yourself you are completely covered. Look for the manufacturer's warranty phone number on the paper work that came with it or call the sales man, he will be happy to track that down for you because he wants repeat business.
If you bought it used the only answer is to return it. You could get a local pro to repair it at yuor own expense but I wouldn't recomend that for a frige only 1.5 weeks old!
