Question about Compaq Presario R3000 Notebook
I cant connect to my internet through wireless or through ethernet port... my computer is a compaq....
use linksys wireless-g cable gateway . I have a pc and a laptop. before going on vacation i could use my laptop anywhere in the house. Tried to use my laptop on vacation and could only get on-line one day then it just wouldn't go on-line at all. After coming home same problem, even when right beside my pc. it says no connection. I go in to find another wireless program to use but with no luck. I have tried turning the wireless button on that is located in front of my laptop, Presario r3000. No luck , I cant even tell if it is on or off. This laptop has caused me nothing but trouble since I got it. I have replaced the power cord, only to find out that it is a problem with faulty connection with the power thingy inside the laptop and the only way to stop it from shutting off is to go into it and and sowder it again. I bought a battery for it which works fine as long as it stays charged. Now this. What is wrong this time?????
Lets try this kjc. First I need to know the operating system you are using. Then I can walk you through the process of elimination. Let me know...take care.. Mark

NOTE: It is
advisable to connect the computer to one of the Ethernet (1, 2, 3 or 4)
ports when setting up the router for the first time. If you have
successfully configured the router using a wireless computer, unplug the
Ethernet cable which connects the computer to the router for you to
have wireless Internet connection. For instructions on how to connect
the wireless computer to go online using the Linksys router, click here.
Make sure the power adapter is plugged in to an available power outlet.
Check if the corresponding LEDs on the router are lit. For instructions, click here.
