Question about Kenmore 72059 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My AC fell out of the window while plugged in, and it disconnected the cord from inside the unit. I thought I found the two spots to plug in the two parts of the cord (plus ground) but the power hasn't been restored. I wanted to know if I'm doing something wrong, or if perhaps I should check to see if the plug itself was damaged (the plug end is a bit bent out of shape, too)

My western digital 500gb hard disk light is not on. It was working so fine. I'm not able to understand the problem

hi

i have the same unit ..eventually if the unit is not unplugged and plugged in in sequence as i describe here, the power module will be expended.
when disconnecting , you have to unplug AFTER you (via software, S/W) disconnect from the ICON found at the bottom right corner of the computer screen , After disconnecting via s/w, unplug the USB cable, then the power cord.

when reconnecting, plug in the power cord, wait 30 seconds, then plug the USB cable in .

this should alleviate the issue at hand. if the unit does not function, then the power module inside the hard disk drive housing is no longer working

i hope this helps

send me 4 thumbs up please.

Works on batteries. does not work on ac. If you leave cord in it and turn off ac it still will not work, but if you take cord out of the unit it will then work on batteries.

If the AC cord can be removed from the back of the radio, then there is a mechanical lever inside where the AC cord plugs into the radio. That lever will cause the battery connection inside to be open (or disconnected) so that it will run off AC and not blow up the batteries. That is why it won't run on batteries when that cord is plugged in.

If it runs on batteries but not AC, find another cord to try. Most radios use about the same cord. If a second cord still doesn't make it work, it's most likely a fuse inside for the AC circuitry. they are usually mounted on a circuit board inside the radio right near where the AC cord plugs into the radio.

You should be able to take the radio apart (while it's unplugged from AC of'course) and find that fuse. If your good with a soldering iron you can replace the fuse. Replacements can be found at Radio Shack. If your reading these instructions to begin with, your probably not good with a soldering iron and you should just buy a new radio. Good luck.

Ac wiring problem

as a general rule ,only if your ac was a window unit. aka a 120 volt unit . all other acs use 240 volt. a 120 leg and a 120 2nd leg to equal 240, so there is really no common. what kills acs with a generator is the lack of watts and starting torque. an ac (3 ton) and up needs a generator of 10000 watts minimum to handle starting trque. they also need a hard start kit to boost starting voltage.for god sake someone reply and tell me what a good job i am doing!!!!!!!as in grade the response to your question.

No power to unit

Remove the power plug and reopen the unit. Usually the socket will be soldered directly to a Printed Circuit Board. Look in the underside (where the solder joints are and you'll see the joints associated with the power socket. One of these is either a bad connection or the solder pad has lifted and broken the track on the PC board. If it's the solder pads give them a workout with a soldering iron if it still plays up scrape the protective lacquer of the PCboard Tracks and resolder them to the socket's solder joints. This should solve your problem. The best way to spot a bad connection is to reinsert your plug (making sure the other end isn't plugged into the wall socket) and lever the plug up, down, left and right. If there's anything faulty you'll see it. The solder joints will move very slightly and if the track is fractured you should spot that too. One other tip is that there is a switch built into the socket which will disable the battery power when you plug the unit into power. I have seen a few of these switches go bad but the chance of that is extremely small. I'd put my money on the socket's solder joints. BMW

Can't hear caller

This problem often results from a defective handset cord--check the handset cord by switching it with a good one. If that solves the problem, replace the cord. With a portable phone, substitute a transmitter from another telephone--replace if necessary.
