Question about Sony Battery Charger for PSP

1 Answer

I'm trying to charge my psp go but the light doesn't even light up. I don't know if it is the charger or the battery. Is there any why to find out if it is one or the other? Because I did try charging the psp go through the computer and that still didn't even help.

I was using my psp while it was charging and the charging light turned off, so i naturally assumed that it was fully charged. But a few minutes later the battery died and it wont charge when i plug it in....

Have you tried to remove the battery and put it back in and try to turn it on. Try removing the battery and putting the charger in and starting the PSP. If it starts, it might be the battery. If it doesn't, it's either the plugin for the charger or the PSP is just dead. If it does start with the charger, try putting the battery back in, if it charges awesome. If it doesn't the battery might be dead.

My psp wont even charge, the light wont even come on.

Usually the CHARGER breaks first before the battery!
Better check the charger by borrowing from ur mate and try it to ur PSP, check the battery if it BULGES and BLOATED it means ur battery is DEAD!

My psp battery loses power "quickly" and charges very slow....

How old is your battery? You may want to think about buying a new one as it may be on it's way out. Even if it is fairly new you might have a lemon of a battery. It happens at times. IF your psp is new and your battery is doing this you should contact sony and see if they can replace your battery for free or a nominal charge.

PSP CHARGING PROBLEMS

The way to properly break in a lithium Ion battery is to run it dead before you recharge it. Then fully recharge it and run it until it's dead again. Do this about 3-5 times and then the battery is properly broken in. If you charge it before it dies on a new battery you can build what they call a "memory" where the battery thinks it's fully charged however it's only maybe half charged and you will lose alot of life out of your battery. So make sure you properly break it in.

It might be a problem with your battery pack, you can even switch on your psp without battery pack, with the charger plugged in acutally. So a replacement battery will be a good choice for you.
