Most platters are secured with a c clip in the middle --gently prying it off should allow the platter to be removed--than a little dexterity is required to reattach the belt to the pulley and around the bottom of the platter--if the belt is broken or stretched you can pursue a replacement at mcm electronics .com

My Sony PS-LX250H Turntable suddenly started playing records too fast for both 33 and 45 speeds. Any ideas on how to fix???

If this is a belt drive then most of these speed increases are caused by the belt being in the wrong position. The belt could be faulty and my need to be replaced. Otherwise it could be due to a power supply problem, such as a faulty regulator to the supply of the motor. A check on the voltage to the motor will determine this. Assuming you know what the correct voltage should be! Of course with luck it will be higher than the motor is supposed to run at.

I received a SONY PS-LX250H turntable with the drive belt off. Where do I route the drive belt to get it back on?

The Operating and Install Guides are here...

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=C310321&fes=true&mdl=PSLX250H

Follow this procedure to install the belt on the turntable.
  1. Lift up on the dust cover [FIG. 1] and remove it from the turntable base [FIG. 1].
  2. Remove the rubber mat [FIG. 1] from the platter [FIG. 1].
  3. Lift the platter straight up off the spindle [FIG. 1].
  4. Slip the drive belt around the under side of the platter [FIG. 2]. IMPORTANT: Line up the ribbon that is attached to the belt with the square opening near the edge of the platter .
  5. Place the platter back on the spindle .
  6. Spin the platter so the square opening on the platter is over the motor pulley [FIG. 1].
  7. Stretch the drive belt [FIG. 3] over the motor pulley by pulling the attached ribbon [FIG. 3].
  8. Remove the ribbon from the drive belt .
  9. Reinstall the rubber mat and the dust cover .

HOW DO I INSTALL A TURNTABLE BELT FOR A SONY TURNTABLE

Under the felt of the turning section, there should be two rather large holes. Insert your thumb and forefinger and pull the table off. You should also see where the existing belt is running. Insert new belt around the motor first and replace the table section. Now, through the two holes, manouver the belt onto the table section until it spins freely

How do i replace belt on lx250h?

Not sure about yours, but some of these one lifts the rubber pad to get access to the belt through holes in the platter when you are re-installing to get the belt back on the hub it runs on. One usually has to lift the platter off to get the belt around the center hub and the motor pulley first..

You can probably find the belts online with a Google search.

Put a brand new drive belt on my sony PS-LX250H and the sound

If the belt is installed correctly (around the center ring on the underside of the metal platter & around the motor post), try adjusting the SW screw on the underside of the unit that apparently fine-tune adjusts speed. It fixed the speed on my turntable - more info/instructions on it are posted under Mocamom1's question & solutions regarding PS-LX250H speed adjustment.

Sony PS-LX250H Turntable Problem

If Sony does not have it available, you won't be able to find one. You can go generic, but you have to worry about size and fit.
