If the wheels stop working on these pool cleaners, it is usually something lodged in the drive train. Check the wheels and axles for leaves, cloth, or other debris and remove if necessary.

Pool rover junior won't back up

Try this: Take the Rover out of the pool and lay it down, wheels down. With your garden hose, shoot a strong jet of water into the impeller opening, alternating sides, 3-4 times each side. There's probably some material stuck in there.

There are two things that you can check yourself if these pool cleaners are not moving properly. First, check the impeller. Make sure that the transformer is unplugged and take the top grill off by removing the 2 screws from the top. Check for debris and remove if you see anything. Replace the grill and tighten the screws before you try the cleaner again. Also, check your front and rear wheels. Debris and leaves can get caught in the axle bearings. Make sure this is not the case. If one of these does not solve the problem, it could be your gear box and you will have to have it serviced by a professional.

Turns on but won't move.

With these pool cleaners, the first thing you will want to check is for an obstruction in the drive shaft. Hair, leaves, and even cloth gets stuck sometimes and prevents movement. Make sure that you have sufficient water flow. Make sure that your impeller is not jammed. If none of these things seem to be wrong, it is probably going to be your electrical system.

Here is a copy of the users manual for these pool cleaners. I would go over the installation instructions again. You most likely do not have something connected properly. The button that you are talking about should be the one that controls wheel movement, but that will not have anything to do with suction. Check all of your connections (specifically) to make sure that you don't have a leak somewhere.

My robo keen pool cleaner is not moving either forward or backward

This is a pretty common problem with these automatic pool cleaners and it usually has a very easy solution. First, even though this seems obvious, make sure that the cable is uncoiled completely and is not blocking water flow. Secondly, make sure that the filter bag is clean and that the impellers are not blocked. Finally, make sure that there is no debris/leaves caught in the axle bearings of the wheels.

Motor problem

It could be a problem with your impeller or your wheels/axles. That is a common, but easily corrected problem, with these automatic pool cleaners. First check the impeller, occasionally hair, leaves, or other material will get caught in the impeller, if this is the vase, take the top grill off by removing the 2 screws from the top. Make sure the transformer is unplugged. Remove the debris and replace the top. Also, you will want to check the front drive wheels and rear idler wheels. Make sure there is no debris or leaves caught in the axle bearings.

Wheels will not turn

If these automatic pool cleaners seem to be working properly but the wheels are not turning, it is most likely debris or tree leaves that are caught in the axle bearings. Check to make sure that you do not have any obstructions. Whatever you do, do not turn the drive wheels by force. This may cause damage to the drive gear train.

Robo kleen stopped working, motor starts but it does not move

Hello, I think I had the same problem with mine : the filterpump worked, but robot didn't move. I opened it up and the problem seemed to be that the pin which locks up the gear wheel to the axle of the front wheels had broken into three pieces. We inserted a new pin (nail, screw etc) and the Robo kleen works just fine again. Maybe you should check this is also the problemwith yours. Good luck !

Swimming pool cleaning robot doesn't move

Sound like your filter is dirty. Try backwashing if you have a sand filter, or clean your cartridges if that's what you have. A dirty filter will reduce water flow, which in turn affects the Nav.
