I have the same problem with the light kit. I contacted Home Depot/Hampton Bay. They got the light manufacturer on the line and they are sending me out a new light kit. I'll test the light bulb in this one before installing it.

Exactly the same problem. Light Kit calls for E11 bulb and I have all the so called 'experts' at Home depot telling me it's the same thing as the T4. We have actually replaced the light kit twice as well as the light bulb. Testing it with miltimeter inside the socket shows every thing is fine. Is this a manufacturers defect or what?

I just installed two Palm Beach fans with lights. The instructions inside the box say 100 watt max. On the outside it says 75 watt. I picked out two 100 watt halogen bulbs with the mini candelabra base. Before leaving Home Depot I asked for a light kit to be opened just to check I had the right bulbs. Surprise! The light kits in stock now take standard base bulbs. When I got the bulbs home it took a couple of attempts to line up the bulb with the fixture, but it was no real problem.

I received my replacement light kit in the mail yesterday and it takes a traditional light bulb! So no need to make the halogen fit! Call the 1-877-527-0313 and tell them your problem. The manufacturer of the light kit is a company called King of Fans. HD/Hampton Bay got a rep on the phone and all was taken care of!

Good luck to all!

Did anyone get this situation straightened out? I have the same issue and cannot find a halogen bulb with a small base.

Me too. I went back to Home Depot. They gave to me the phone number for Hampton Bay - 1-877-527-0313. I will call them tomorrow after they open to see what the deal is. it looks to me like the JDE11 is a mini-candelabra base. The lady in the fans at Home Depot said that all of the light kits were changing to the smaller based halogen lights. BUT, you'd think that they'd carry the light bulbs that have to go in the light kits they sell!!!

If it's a Hampton Bay light kit, it should be no problem putting it on their fan.

Light kit has light bulb size that I cannot find bulbs for

Melanie, you must have gotten a bad batch of bulbs. I have installed over 100 Hampton Bay ceiling fans and I have dropped them from up the ladder and have them bounce across the floor with no damage. I think they must have allowed a substandard batch to go out.

Home Depot is where I buy my replacement bulbs. Hampton Bay make fans exclusively for HD.

You can easily change lighting bases, as the wiring is the same for all Hampton Bay. You may even appeal to Hampton Bay on the internet and they might send you the kits. But I don't think you'd have success in a store.

If you try replacing them with bulbs from another Home Depot you may find them much hardier. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need additional help please write back.

I just purchased and installed a Hampton Bay palm beach 48' ceiling fan (close to ceiling mount)Problem is when turned on I hear an annoying hummmmmmmmmmmm, more of a hum at high speed and it graduates...

You have a rotating dimmer switch on the wall to control speed right? If so, it is the wrong type switch. The missed matched switch will cause the humming. Use a regular on/off switch and control speed with the pull string
