First, download drivers for 64 Bit OS from manufacturer's site, a free copy of antivirus should also be downloaded from
http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-free-antivirus. It should be done on your friends PC. Now start your PC, press del key go to the BIOS setup, > boot priority, select DVD ROM as first boot device, HDD as second boot device. Now restart, insert Windows 7 64 Bit OS DVD. Press any key at the beginning when it asks and continue with installation. Format all the HDD, create a C drive of atleast 70 GB and rest allocate for your data. Data drive can be resized after OS installation. after formatting and files loading, windows will automatically restarts the system. Now do not press any key when it asks. Let it boot itself. Carry on with the installation. It will take 40 Mins. Make sure that you are not connected with the net.Ins.
Copy antivirus and all the drivers in a USB drive from your friends PC, install antivirus and every driver on your system. after successful installation. connect the net, update your antivirus, register it, register with microsft. and you will be good to go again.

If your hard drive is not being detected, try looking in the bios. I had a similar problem and for some reason the setting for using the hard drive as a bootable device had been changed.

The error may be with the file or the software you are using to open it. Try download a fresh copy of adobe reader and try copying the file again and opening it again.

This is normal. USB 1.0 is a lot slower than USB 2.0...why are you using USB 1.0 on a system that has Vista x64? Is it because of the device? Change the device...

Packard bell i media desktop pc freezes before

Then the problem must be a software related one. Something your adding to the system (knowingly or unknowingly) is causing this.

Install your recovery disks and immediately put on Avira Antivirus software.

http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html?part=dl-10322935&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11012914

Then update it from the web. ensure it checks all files on open and close. The point is i think you maybe installing something with a virus in it. better to check your system thoughout.

Avira is the best free one there is. Nothing compares.
