Could be water/ rust from condensation getting inside the motor. This is not uncommon with compressors that do not have a bleed-off valve to let out air and water. Possibly an in-line water separator will work.

My kenmore 22 stitch sewing machine I bought in 1990; it doesn’t reverse anymore. How do I fix it

Those older machines do need regular cleaning and oiling. I suspect the oil has dried and caused the switch mechanism to seize. As time goes on, more parts may seize, so it's probably important to get it addressed soon. It could eventually damage the motor if the motor is trying to move seized parts. Well worth the expense if you value your machine.

Back wipers and washer keeps fusing

This is caused by either a broken wire or, more likely, a seized motor. When the motor is seized it has to draw a lot more current to try and work, this will blow the fuse. Check the motor and wiper arm are free to move easily.

My spa will hum when turned on but will not push water. The motor then turns off.

Hi,
The pump seized up or the motor bearings went bad and seized up...

Bottom line is that you will need to remove the pump and motor and take it apart to figure out what is causing the problem....

Motor starts then stops i'm thinking bushings in motor

There could be two issues here there is whats called a soft start module in the motor that could be causing you problem, when the motor gets up to speed it shuts off, replacing the module will solve that proble. Or it could be the rear armature bearing has seized, usually they seize so tight they will stop the motor rotation.

I can think of many problems that could cause what you are experiencing.

Are your using a long, small gauge extension cord? Too long and too small of a cord will starve a motor of the power it needs to run properly.

Check the oil level. If the oil is too low the piston can seize to the cylinder. Too much oil can cause excessive pressure in the cylinder, stopping the motor.

There could be a bad bearing. A seized bearing can cause enough resistance to stop the motor.

There are a couple of capacitors on the motor. At least one of them will be used to help start the motor. A motor shop can test them to see if they are both working properly.

Those are the most likely causes. You will need to do some testing to figure out which is causing your problem.

I hope this helps with your repair!faeaa56.gif

Timer causes pool motor to seize up

I do not see any connection between the timer and the pump unless you are losing prime after the pump shuts off. Upon restart, your pump might not be primed to pump the water.

With the Kenmore series 80 Dryer plugged in, Pressing the start button causes the motor to hum as if the belt, pully or motor is frozen. The drum doesn't turn during the humming and is difficult to turn...

You'll need to remove the back panel and determine the cause. Look for:

Seized drum support rollers (3)
Seized drive and/or idler pulleys
Burned out or seized motor
Possible bad motor start capacitor (if equipped)
Drum alignment
