I have found a solution for your problem. (1) With the printer turned on, unplug it (2)Open the top and bring the ink cartridge holder to the middle (3)Raise the gray bar and remove the print head assembly with the cartridges in it (4) Lower the gray bar with the head missing and close the top with the head out (5) Restore the power, wait til the printer wakes up (6) It will tell you to put in the cartridges (7) Restore the print head, close the top and the printer should resume working.

The 5200 series error indicates an unrecoverable hardware error. Canon does not have any specific recommendations or further information to advise on this other than to unplug the printer for thirty seconds then plug back in and power on. If the error still remains unresolved, it will likely be more cost effective to replace versus service.

1. hold RESUME then press & hold POWER
2. release RESUME, then press it twice, the light should go amber then green again.
3. you're now in service mode (you can release POWER now)
for reset waste tank reset is 4 presses of the RESUME button. To confirm, press POWER once
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Have a good day.

Error 5200 indicated an error with the print head. Try to cleaning all contacts on the print head as well as on the connecting pad. And also the power needs to be restated, so do it and try it again, just take out the USB, the power from the wall outlet and the USB in the printer itself.
Thanks Good Luck
