SOURCE: My grill does not heat beyond 300 degrees.

Hello,

Check the excess flow safety device, which is part if the barbeque to cylinder connection, may have activated. To reset the excess flow safety device turn all burner control knobs and the cylinder valve off.
Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to high. Wait at least 1 minute . Turn burner control knobs OFF. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder. turn cylinder valve slowly. I HAD THIS PROBLEM JUST LAST NIGHT AND FIXED IT RIGHT THEN.

SOURCE: Weber Silver B - 3 burner BBQ

Check your instruction manual, you have probably set off the safety valve in your propane tank. It is set to trigger if there is an open connection, such as turning on the jets when the tank is turned off. You may have to re-connect the tank...careful of course, make sure it's valve is off.

SOURCE: low flame on 3 main burners. model GBC730W

Mike, I had this problem with my grill once or twice. Like most of us grilling men we turn the grill off at the tank trying to be safe. Sometimes, like in my case, I do not turn the nobs back to the off position. When returning to the grill the next day or week the first thing we do is turn the gas on leaving the nobs on, then lighting. Every time I do this my flame never gets full or does not reach full temp. To resolve this: turn everything off including the nobs, then turn the gas on, wait a minute or two. Turn the nobs to full and ignite. It should be at full flame then, adjust from there. I hope this is helpfull.

SOURCE: grill does not heat over 250 degrees

Here is a couple of things to do.

Make sure your tank is filled.
Straighten Fuel hose, so it is not bent or kinked.
Does your front burner light with a match? If it does light then check the Crossover Ignition System.

Also, It could be the way the unit is turn off.

Try following thses steps, this will help to reset the excess flow safety device.
Turn all burner control knobs and the cylinder valve OFF.
Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to HIGH. Wait at least 1 minute. Turn burner control knobs OFF. Reconnect the regulator to the cylinder. turn cylinder valve on slowly. Then go ahead an light your grill.

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

The traegger will not heat up past 350 degrees

Unfortunately, it's not realistically designed to heat above 250 -275 Degrees F. No matter what they call it, it's still a smoker, more than it is a grill. Even the Owner's Manual says the the optimal operation temperature is 180 to 200 degrees F. It's not designed to sear steaks.

Perhaps, if it was made of cast iron, rather than sheet steel, you could get the temp up past 350 degrees. If you really want a true smoker/grill, pay $700 to $800 and buy a Big Green Egg. And you wont have to buy some specialized pellets to burn in it. Just good old fashioned lump charcoal or wood chunks.

I wish I had better news for you, but it is what it is. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Periodicly I won'y be able to get the grill temp to over 200 degrees. sometimes it is ok and can reach as high as 500 degrees other times it will just not generate enough heat to grill. This is a five...

zonfish - if you're tuning the gas tank off at each use, as you should. The problem lies in your grill's gas regulator, but it also is not a big deal and is easily solved.

Whenever, you open the tank valve, do it VERY, VERY, SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow), until it is fully open. Then light the burners.

What happens is this, LP Gas Grill Tanks are now equipped with an Overfill Protection Device ("OPD"). And often time, when you turn the valve on like you would normally do, the OPD Valve sends a hot load of gas to your grill's regulator and partially locks it up or locks up entirely. Therefore, the burners are not getting enough gas to heat the unit up to 500 degrees. Opening the valve very, very, slowly, overcomes this problem.

I hope this helped you and Happy Grilling.

I never used a smoker grill when smoking do you put charcol in the side box and grill

In the side box. And the food to be smoked on the grill. Remember to keep the grill's hood/lid closed while smoking. Smoking is a low heat (225 - 250 Degrees) slow process. I always call it a "Low and slow process with big rewards."

Enjoy!!!
