When you loaded your OS, did you run the MB drivers first? Is everything ok in the device manager?
Did you load the original Mouse and keyboard drivers from the disk?

what kind of computer is it? how old is it? have you added, removed or changed hardware recently? have there been any power spikes, outages or surges lately while the computer was running? lastly are the voltage settings 120V/240V on the power supply set correctly? it sounds like the power supply is dead from what i've read but i can't be sure because there are many reasons this could be happening, i.e. the processor gets too hot while the system is trying to start and the computer shuts down to prevent damage to it, also have you tried plugin the system into another wall outlet or socket on your power strip? if no hardware has been add, removed or changed. you can start with a power supply but if after that it still won't power up there's a deeper cause to look for!
hope this helps

Well, do you have a Mac or PC? If a mac, hold control and scroll out if you have a scrolling ball in your mouse. If not, i don't know.
