Question about ASUS F3T-AP042C Notebook

1 Answer

I have asus F3T. When the computer has been shut down for a while, it boots up but after few minutes the screen gets scrambled. Fan is still working and the scrambled picture stays until the computer is shut down with power button. Nothing else seems to be working. If the computer is powered up immediately after, only the fan and power indicator led turns on and nothing else happens. Acording to Asus NB Probe utility the computer is not over heating. The computer also feels cool when touched. If external monitor is plugged in, the scrambled picture is shown in it also. It seems that many have had similar problems. I have tried some of the fixes but nothing seems to be working for me. I would appreciate any suggestions that people have, even though they might seem obvious. Thanx in advance.

SOURCE: I have the identical problem as chrisdangelo

I have read your problem and the solution to your problem may be following.

  • The BIOS setting may have changed. You can reset the BIOS settings.
  • The hard disk type may have changed..look for SATA and ATA.
  • Or your window got corrupt.Reset the BIOS setting and reinstall the windows using boot able CD.
  • if nothing work out then may be your hard disk connector is loose or your hard disk is gone.
thank you

SOURCE: AMD Puma-based Asus M51Ta stalls at power up, screen is blank.

Have you tried booting and pressing F2 to get in the bios?
If that works you can check the boot devices and order of usage. Make sure the HDD is first.
Apart from that you can reboot and press F8 to get in the Windows boot menu, where you can try the Safe Mode.

If all this fails, the Windows configuration is somehow corrupt. You can try booting from a Windows CD and run the Repair option in the setup.

SOURCE: Hi! i have an Asus

Hi there, I had and have the same problem since I bought. It went to Asus to repair and 1º time, 1 month later, they said it was a fault in the camera, and replaced it. Bah!! the 2º, 3 month later, it was the OS and reinstall it the XP. Bah!! bullS" the 3º time they update the BIOS which worked until now, but the reality is that it was just a lucky, it is for sure the BIOS or chipset problem. Mine occurs when I am running on battery and with the WIFI and Bluetooth on and the battery runs out, either the XP tries to hibernate or suspend mode and after that it show the same problem as you describe. - I know it does help you but it might give more hints for who understands.

No starting laptop Asus f3t

Maybe the motherboard gone bad. You can test the hard drive and the memory first. First, take out the hard drive and restart your laptop. If the problem persist, take out 1 memory, then restart your laptop. If the problem persist, then take out the second memory and install the first memory. If the problem persist, then your motherboard is dying. Please do not forget to detach the ac adapter and the main battery before you touch the hard drive and or the memory; and read the laptop's service manual.

Try making sure all of the plugs are connected properly (some may have moved during) hopefully you haven't unseated the processor but just repeat process sometimes that fixes the problem. But to me sounds like a connection issue between either graphics card(if you have one) CPU, Power Supply Unit and motherboard

How do I put my Asus notebook back into factory settings?

Asus has become one of the "Top 5" computer manufacturers worldwide. CNET attributes this growth to the Netbook craze. The company's name comes from the last four letters of "Pegasus," the winged horse from Greek Mythology. You can restore your Asus laptop to the original factory settings in about five minutes.

Restart your ASUS laptop and press the "F9" key while the computer is booting up. This will open the boot screen. Select "Recover Windows to Entire HD" and press "Enter." Press "Y" three times when asked if you are sure that you want to restore. The laptop will restore the factory settings. The computer will then shut down and start up again. Approve the license agreement, then select your "Language preference." Enter your name into the box and click "Next." Enter your password twice on the next screen and select "Next." Enter the time zone and date information, then select "Next." Select "Finish" on the next screen and the computer will reboot. Hope this helps.

Monitor gets scrambled and computer will not respond

bad video card memory. try to change the video card. if it's built-in to the motherboard then it's a shared memory, disable it in the bios and put in a new video card. check if PCI, AGP or PCIexpress type of card. if problem persists, check also the memory card. hope this helps.

Asus a6tc laptop last few weeks it said no memory i it shut down at night , start up next day hear fan black screen, backlight ok and inverter ok , can you please help, peter

I think you should test your RAM module. If cleaning its edge connector with soft eraser doesn't work. But do this when unit is completely shutdown and no other power source is connected to it. Test the ram with a good spare module if this boot the system youre opt to buy a new one.
