This usually happens with either a bad wall control or the wiring to the control. Staples used to hold the wires sometimes cuts through the insulation and causes the door to open.

Can you reprogram your ikt key to prevent random access to your vehicle by some knucklehead?

This is for the remote entry transmitter, not the PATS transponder chip in the key base.
Gather all the remote transmitters that you want the car RKE system to recognize.
Electronically unlock the doors, using one of the remotes that still works. if none work use the door lock switch on the interior of the drivers door press to open all door locks.
Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds ending in RUN position. If the module successfully enters the program mode, it will lock and unlock all the doors.
Within 20 seconds press any button on all your remotes that you want to be able to access your car. Each remote will lock and unlock the doors as they are programmed into the memory. Turn the key to OFF to exit the programming mode.
This will eliminate anyone who has any other remotes that you do not want accessing the car.

How do I change the frequency of a garage door opener 139.53930ODM?

Hi... You have to "erase all codes" (you can read that section of the manual and teach the opener to use the remote using a new code. You can get the manual at the Craftsman site, page 35. Essentially you do this: access the reset button n the back right of the motor, press and hold the 'learn' for 6 seconds or more, until the learn light goes off. TO reprogram it, press the learn button until the light goes on, then within 30 seconds, press and hold the desired button of the remote. Voila!

Garage Door Remote

Did you happen to put a new light bulb in it? I put an LED bulb in mine and the interference caused the remotes to stop working. I had a bear figuring it out, because it seemed to be totally random. Sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn't. Once I switched back to an incandescent, it worked fine.

My garage door will only open half way. It appears to be getting stuck when it is opening.

If you haven't gotten your issue fixed yet... I had the same problem (stopped opening half way when using the remote, went down fine, could lift/close manually fine as well) and this happened on our first cold weather day of the year which was very telling. Anyhow, there are two gauges/dials on your garage door opener unit itself (above, where the light is) which controls how much torque/strength your door uses to open or shut through resistance. I turned mine up some and it now works fine; what likely happened was that the metal tracks or the wood frame condensed in the cold and was providing just enough resistance to stop it when opening - as they have a security device built in to stop if they meet any resistance. Hopefully this helps!

My Honda CR-V EX 2005 doors lock by themselves. Occasionally, after you unlock it with the remote key, it locks itself before you can get in. It also happens sometimes when I unlock the car, then open the...

They all do it, its part of the security system that all the doors lock after a minute or so from unlocking if you don't open the driver's door.
It prevents you from accidentally unlocking the car door while walking away and clicking the remote in your pocket, the car re-locks on its own.
If you open with the remote then open only the rear door, the other doors all lock and when you close the rear the alarm goes off.
What fun we have!

Door ejecting

If you have a decorative bezel or door over your drives, that may be the problem. Sometimes the door presses on the drive release switch. Decorative bezels, meanwhile, have a spring-loaded extension button that goes through the extra case material to press the drive's actual release mechanism. I've seen a faulty spring on this type of arm cause a drive tray to go in and out at random, come out part-way and go back in, etc. — all without anyone touching the button itself. The effect is almost as if the drive is possessed. Kind of spooky when it happens, but fixing it is usually a simple matter of adjusting the spring or just removing the bezel completely (since it's only decorative). Alternatively, you may have a trojan on your machine that either fools with the drive automatically, or gives remote access to the drive so that someone else can toy with your machine over your network connection. "OfficePoltergeist" is a program that pranksters love to use to do this. NetBUS is another example of a remote tool from many years ago that could play with your CDROM trays. Your antivirus or spyware scans should be able to detect this, though... It is possible you have a new trojan of this sort that is not yet detected by antivirus software...
