Question about Lavazza Espresso Point Capsule Machine

3 Answers

The part where you put the capsule in on my Lavazza capsule coffee machine is not working properly. The capsule keeps getting stuck inside. The pieces that form the opening do not look right, but I have tried playing around with them and I can't figure out what is wrong.

It is not the drawer, it is the opening for the capsules that are not working. I believe it is the pieces that form the opening that are out of place. I can move them around but I do not know how they are supposed to fit together. However, it clearly looks different from the outside.

It was working fine until yesterday. There is something out place where the capsules go in and I just need to be told how to fix it.

Hi,

this is usually due to the hinged part of the capsule plate failing to return to the normal resting position after ejecting the first capsule. You can resolve this problem by occasionally pulling the capsule plate out of the unit and running it through the dishwasher. You can also scrub it with a toothbrush under hot soapy water. Coffee stains build up on the mechanism preventing the plate from dropping to the rested position. The second capsule hits this and jams rather than riding the ramp into the puncture plate.

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

I could find very little about this problem, but did run across one answer on Sovrana.com that might be of help:
The bottom drawer (where the spent cartridges are collected) is stuck:
The drawer has probably overfilled with cartridges. Part of the very limited maintenance of your Espresso Point should be to empty the refuse drawer daily (or more often if the usage is high) from spent cartridges. If the drawer is jammed, simple jiggle it while gently pulling it out. After a few attempts, the "cartridges" inside will settle and you should be able to completely remove it. Some cartridges may fall out, make sure you remove them before replacing the drawer in its receptacle.

You might try contacting Lavazza's support center to see if they have a solution, or have heard of this problem. Refer to the manual that came with the machine to get their support information.
Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

You could avoid this problem by flashing water out without any capsule in. In anycase is a simple problem, you need to disasemble the machine and remove the head shower and wash it from dry coffee liquid which is blocked all the showers holes.

Can't get a full cup of coffee

First, you should not be using your espresso machine as an american coffee maker. It puts way too much pressure on the components of the machine. The standard cartridges are made to do 1.5 - 3.0 ounces of espresso. should you want to make a longer cup of coffee you need to get the aroma point gran caffe cartridges, lavazza code 427. this will enable you too get the longer cup of coffee without putting the added stress on your machine. Also it sounds like your machine mighy have a problem with the volumetric device. are you getting water in the capsule ejection drawer? should you want service you should call 781-393-2929. we are an authorized lavazza distributor and repair center.
