Question about Black & Decker Kitchen Appliances - Others

Open Question

Have purchased Black& decker bread machine #B6000C on Aug 16/10.\r\nHave made three loaves of bread. The bread absolutely will not come out of pan.Would not come out with vigorous shaking, proding with a wooden spatula and finally had to claw the bread out with my hands. The bottom of the loaf separated from the top. The paddle also came out when the bread was kneading. I am very disappointed with this product. Can it be returned to the store? Marion Lewis Patrick.lewis@ns.sympatico.ca

SOURCE: I have a problem with uneven shaped loaves

The paddles fit two ways, so what you must do is have them facing opposite ways, then they fight with each other and elongate the loaf

SOURCE: kneading blade stays in bread after cooking.

Hi,

This sometimes happens. I have a Panasonic.

When you place contents in pan with some machines it is important to place contents
in a particular order. I should try to keep contents away from the kneading blade as you place them.
Another thing that might possibly help is to put a litter olive oil around the blade before adding ingredients.

Hope that this helps

SOURCE: Big chunk out of loaf bottom

If you are around while the bread is being made, pull the dough out of the pan and remove the paddle after the final kneading. It should only take a minute and will not interfere with the baking process.

SOURCE: My Black & Decker B900SC bread machine doesn't mix properly

Have you tried adding a bit more water to your mix? It sounds as if your dough is too dry. Sometimes, no matter how exact you follow directions, you have to compensate for variables of the machine. I have a similar problem with some of my bread mixes if I do not add an extra tbsp or two of water.

SOURCE: Kneading paddle is baked into bottom of bread

Yes, this is a common occurrence.
Nothing to worry about unless you chow down and forget to remove the paddle(s). :)

Since the paddle(s) stays in the pan after the kneading and through the baking process. The bread can trap the paddle(s) as the batter cooks.

We have gone through 3 different bread machines and over time all eventually did this. A little wear on the spindle will loosen the paddle(s).
Hope this helps!

Please answer these 2 questions. Are you making white or wheat bread? What kind of flour are you using? Is it all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, or bread flour? You can reach me at daryl441@msn.com

My padels no longer click into place, & come off when baking bread, how do I fix this? Machine is new, baked around 10 loaves

Call Black & Decker, it should still be under warranty. They will send you a new unit or even a new model if this version is notoriously bad, as was the case with my 2500 model. Their customer service is good if you are under warranty, just call and get it replaced.

I had a Black and Decker B 1600 Model Bread Machine for 14 years and made the seven grain bread (from the recipe book that came with the machine) in it at least twice a week. I also had very good results...

Hi, A bread machine made 14 years ago was of very high quality. Black & Decker does not make bread machines anymore, but buys them in a foreign country and slaps the Black & Decker name on it. The program may be different, the heating element may have changed, and possibly the paddle size and time of kneading and cycle times could have have changed. You will have to experiment some more ( I know you have, and it's expensive and frustrating) to change settings to try and make it work for you. Talk to your friends who may have a bread machine and try it on theirs, or give me the recipe and I'll try it on my Sunbeam...that would be interesting. Hank

Hi, Take the paddle out of the machine at the end of the last kneading cycle and before final rise.. Use pause or take pan out of machine to remove paddle. OR... spray the shaft with a small amount of olive oil. This should allow paddle to come out when bread is done. You will have to fish the paddle out of the bread in this step. Hank

Hi, You can definitely make white bread in your machine. Just google for bread machine recipes and I'm sure you will find something. I actually went to a second hand book store and found a cool recipe book. I use this one more than the recipe book that came with my machine. Hank
