Question about D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 Wireless Router
I keep getting hung up on because I think i'm not under warranty. They want me to upgrade firmware but it comes in a bin file that I don't know how to open. Please help me if anyone can thanks.
You need to access the router setup page:
To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer
and enter the IP address of the router (192.168.1.1).
Type “admin” for the User Name and “admin” in the Password field.
To access the FIRMWARE UPDATE setting window, click on the Firmware Update button under the MAINTENANCE tab.
To update firmware, click on the Browse… button to
search for the file and then click on the Update
Firmware button to begin copying the file. The Router
will load the file and restart automatically.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
